Luke Wilson's a writer who has 30 days to finish a novel before Mobsters remove his kneecaps over gambling debts. Kate Hudson is the secretary he hires to type it out. Both of them also play characters in the novel itself (half the film is set in the '30s world of the book), but the main plot centres around - guess what? - The pair falling in love.
