In San Diego, one anchorman was more man then the rest. He had a voice that could make a wolverine purr and suits so fine they made Sinatra look like a hobo. It's been 8 years since the Channel 4 News Team have assembled, but it's finally time for Ron Burgundy and co. to return in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
Little is known about the plot, yet the tagline of 'The Legend Continues' on the teaser poster indicates Ron Burgundy is still going strong as he enters the modern era. Adam McKay, returning to direct, has kept his cards very close to his chest only admitting that "it's all about the rise of the new media and 24 hour news cycle, and there's a lot of interesting points to make about that while being silly."
The pre-film teaser before The Dictator earlier this year shows that the leads, Brick Tamland (Steve Carell), Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) and Champ Kind (David Koechner) have slipped back into their roles with ease.
The much anticipated sequel has been a long time coming, with McKay and Ferrell continually pleading with Paramount to green light the project, receiving the thumbs down back in 2010.
McKay has admitted the new film will contain musical numbers, hopefully a la Afternoon Delight. He even admits that the original plan for Anchorman 2 was to enter broadway as a full-blown musical.
With no confirmed release date as of yet, the film is still slated for released in the UK in 2013. Will we be skyrocketing with delight or trapped in a glass case of emotion? Tell us your thoughts below.
