
Ignore the slapped-on upbeat ending and this 1954 product of the Halas & Batchelor animation stable is something us Brits can be proud of. A feature-length take on George Orwell's farmyard-set satire of the events before and after the Russian Revolution, it mixes Disney-esque touches with incredibly dark themes to create a grown-up piece of animation.
