From the mighty Simpson/ Bruckheimer production combo, Bad Boys screamed essential viewing for action aficionados. But, while director Michael Bay delivers a slick, hyper, pyrotechnic-filled thriller with some snappy comedy interplay between Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, it amounts to less than the sum of its all-too-frenetic parts.
