In 1999, The World Trade organisation held a conference in Seattle, sparking a series of anti-big business protests that quickly escalated into riots.
Actor Stuart Townsend’s directorial bow attempts to recreate the events using news footage mixed with a wrap-around fictional drama that pits cops (Woody harrelson) against protestors (Michelle rodriguez, Andre Benjamin), revealing the hypocrisies and passions on both sides.
Emotional depth is stunted by an unwieldy number of characters, but this is unbiased filmmaking that balances political content with tense, pot-boiling drama.
