Brave review

Film description

Set in the highlands of Scotland, the 13th feature film from Pixar Studios, Brave, follows Merida, a rebellious young princess who is an expert with a bow and arrow.

Something of a tomboy, Merida bristles at her parents attempts to cast her as a typical princess and match her up with a suitor. Her actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old wise woman (voiced by Harry Potter''s Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish.

And it seems US audiences (who have the film an infuriating couple of months earlier than UK cinemagoers), are flocking to it, with Deadline estimating a $70m opening weekend. It might have something to do with Princess Merida's glorious CGI hair....

It seems like the bow and arrow fad is well and truly here to stay! Brave opens in the UK on 17 August 2012 (and, yes, we are going to sulk about that). Will you be going to see it when it finally reaches our shores? Make sure to leave a comment in the section below.
