In 1954, French director Henri-Georges Clouzot made Les Diaboliques, a movie so chilling it out-suspensed Hitchcock. In 1996, Canadian director Jeremiah Chechik made Diabolique, a remake so terrifyingly bad it's no better than the director's next film, The Avengers. Chazz Palminteri knits his eyebrows to portray the EVIL schoolmaster, while Isabelle Adjani and Sharon Stone pout aplenty as the two dislikeable women who join forces to off the bastard.
