A Man Called Hero - DVD Review
Extras
Hong Kong’s highest grossing movie combines traditional kung-fu action, magical swordplay and superior CGI effects in a convoluted tale of revenge that climaxes with a spectacular fight atop the Statue Of Liberty.
Making Of featurette, music video, stills gallery, cast and film-makers’ biographies, trailers. The 16-minute featurette reveals that much of the budget went into the impressive effects, but it appears to have been at the cost of character development and plot which will be incomprehensible to anyone not familiar with the cult comic book series of the same name. Being a competitively priced two-disc set, it looks an attractive package, but the extras don’t justify a second disc. The stills gallery comprises half-a-dozen shots, the biogs are no more than a page of text per person and the two-minute music video is perfunctory.
