Damages Season 1 - DVD Review

Title
Extras

A dead pet, a pot bubbling ominously on the stove… Luckily, US law drama Damages doesn’t overcook the allusions to star Glenn Close’s Fatal Attraction infamy. No need, really – her fearsome prosecutor Patty Hewes is possibly an even greater screen monster than Alex Forrest, rapaciously pursuing insider-dealing CEO Ted Danson (against-type but excellent) with a class-action suit worth hundreds of millions. Mixed up in the case is Rose Byrne’s naïve law graduate, who’s quick to neglect her doctor fiancé when the job starts taking its toll. How much toll? Put it this way, the pilot ep opens with intrigue-stoking, Lost-style flashforwards of her running through Manhattan in undies and a mac, soaked in someone else’s blood… Extras comprise commentaries, brief deleted scenes and a brace of featurettes that should not be watched prior to polishing off the 13 ace instalments spread across these three discs.
