Meet Joe Black - DVD Review

Title
Extras

The Grim Reaper snatches Brad Pitt’s body and then pops round to the opulent home of Anthony Hopkins’ tycoon to tell him that it’s time to cash his last cheque. But first, he offers the old man a deal: extra time on Earth for giving Death-as-Pitt a tour of mortal life.

Behind-the-scenes featurette, production notes, theatrical trailer, cast&crew biogs.Martin Brest’s overlong, pompous vanity piece is notable mainly for Pitt’s hilariously bad performance, but the extras are unexceptional. That said, Hopkins explaining how his choice of scripts has improved (Instinct, anyone?), and Pitt’s dumb description of the film as a symphony (it sure ain’t a three-minute pop song) offer titter-worthy nuggets of nonsense, while the trailer is a great lesson in the power of editing. Mr Brest, please take note.
