Edge Of Tomorrow sees director Doug Liman return to the sci-fi genre, with Tom Cruise taking the lead as Lieutenant Colonel Bill Cage.
Adapted from Hiroshi Sakurazaka's novel, the film sees the soldier in the midst of war against alien race called Mimics, who then becomes caught in a time loop on his last day of the battle. However as the days repeat themselves, Cage's skills improve as he become tougher, smarter and more skilful.
Alongside Cruise, Emily Blunt will star as Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski who was laid waste to more Mimics than anyone on Earth.
Scripted by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects), Joby Harold (Awake) and Dante Harper (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters), this Groundhog Day meets Alien (by way of Michael Bay) number will certainly be one to watch.
Reportedly purchased by Warner Bros for a sizeable sum, the film will also co-star Bill Paxton, Charlotte Riley and BBC's Robin Hood, Jonas Armstrong.
Edge Of Tomorrow opens in the UK on 30 May 2014.
