Talented character actor? Yup, and for film, that means bit-parts.
Shakespearian leads aside, the Brit thesp has certainly had his share (Wild Wild West, Valkyrie, Harry Potter…).
But it took recent detective series Wallander to let him do theālot again. It cleaned up at the Baftas, too.

I don't know why William Shatner is in this line up, he wasn't really a film thespian to begin with granted the first thing he was in according to imdb was a film but the Shatner is a TV actor.

Maybe he wasn't included as he wasn't a big a massive star before hand, but I think Timothy Olyphant deserves a mention. Before his flawless performance as Seth Bullock in Deadwood, Olyphant was a in Scream 2, Go, Rock Star, Gone in 60 Seconds and A Man Apart - to name but a few. Not exactly the CV you would expect from an actor cast to play the multifaceted, tough-as-old-boots sheriff of Deadwood. Wouldn't you call that a reinvention?
