Having had the dubious honour of producing “two of the most acclaimed TV series to ever only last one season” in Undeclared and Freaks And Geeks, you can hardly blame one man comedy sweatshop Apatow for his move to film.

But while TV’s loss was cinema’s gain, it’s the character-led comedy he honed on TV that became his big-screen hallmark. That and the penis gags.

TV we want to see: Freaks and Geeks back on the screen ideally, but we'll settle for a sitcom set in Smart Tech, the electonics store where Andy worked in The 40-Year Old Virgin.
