Is Amélie Poulain from Amélie (2001)
Rave reviews for Chekhov’s The Seagull on Ny’s Broadway are in the bag and in An Education – the sex lib ’60s flick scripted by Nick Hornby – she
takes the lead of Jenny.
“She thinks she’s an existentialist and wants to live in paris. I’ve tried to make smoking not look cool!” laughs Mulligan, fittingly garbed as Amélie.
That’s just the start for her 2009, though. There’s also Jim Sheridan’s Brothers with Jake gyllenhaal and Public Enemies, directed by Michael
Mann and co-starring Johnny depp and Christian Bale.
