I'm sure you have reviewed all these films in your time so I am a bit surprised to see no Schindler's List, Close Encounters, Saving Private Ryan, Taxi Driver, Shawshank Redemption or Police Academy 3
Feb 5th 2010, 15:27
Actually I'll go on, no Terminator 1 or 2 or Godfather Part 2 dare I say it Aliens. I know why you haven't put Forrest Gump as everyone in the world apart from me apparently hates it and I don't think you gave it five stars but the rest I'm sure you did
Feb 5th 2010, 15:45
Police Academy 3? I'm sure you've got your numbers mixed up, it should be 5 thats in there. Poor show.
Feb 5th 2010, 16:51
Um...The Matirx?? I know the sequels were weaker, but the first.....come on, its gotta be in there!
Feb 5th 2010, 17:01
Any attempt at such a list is really ridiculous. Maybe if you spent 2-3 years compiling it and actually devoted to it, maybe you'd get something but even then, it's still just a personal oppinion. One short example is that Sideways (a good film) is on that list yet Eisenstein isn't. I think you should've just named this list 100 Great Movies of All Time, but surely you can't expect to have compiled a list of "GREATEST 100 movies of all time". Because this really isn't it.
Feb 5th 2010, 17:03
Re: to number 4: What you mean the one where Tackleberry points a gun at a shark and tells him to leave.....you must be mad. It's 3 all the way for me :)
Feb 6th 2010, 12:43
'The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford' should be in the list
Feb 6th 2010, 16:21
Good list. Nice Range of films. But is Finding Nemo really the greatest Pixar movie? Surely not. I agree with zbenny, it should be 100 GREAT movies, not GREATEST. Nice try TF!
Feb 7th 2010, 15:03
where Taxi Driver and The Godfarther 2?
Feb 7th 2010, 15:07
I didnt actually see a sin city there.... sort it out!
Feb 8th 2010, 12:32
Where's Dead Mans Shoes!!! ok you may not have give it 5 stars, but you could make a typo error and put it in at least!!
Feb 8th 2010, 20:18
what, no Toy Story? quite clearly the best animated film of all time and it isnt in the list?! yet Nemo is... bit fishy
Feb 9th 2010, 17:05
Calling 'His Girl Friday' 'His Friday Girl' kinda changes the film's tone a bit.
Feb 11th 2010, 4:45
I think the Wicked Witch of the East put a hex on your list; where's The Wizard of Oz and The Graduate and What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? and Cries and Whispers and The Manchurian Candidate and The Women and Airplane! and The Hangover and Mulholland Drive?
Feb 14th 2010, 17:39
Where the hell is Wizard of Oz? It's a groundbreaking classic, and you gave it five stars after all. If you put in the LOTR as a trilogy why not the Godfather, and Scream while we're at it even though you only gave it four. Horror is unrepresented here.
Feb 14th 2010, 17:41
One more thing. The list is impossible to draw up but thanks for trying. I have to watch all the ones I haven't watched yet now, especially Persona because a mate of mine keeps banging on about how great it is. One day you should draw lists on different genres. That would be fairer.
Mar 20th 2010, 15:17
I was working my way through the last top 100 on here which has now been over written! Does anyone happen to have a copy? Most of the films listed above were on there interestingly enough.
Apr 8th 2010, 23:10
If we agree to include Police Academy 3 can we bump Avatar? Afterall, of the 2 films PA3 has the more original storyline and has more rounded characters. Also, the dialogue in Avatar was more wince-inducing than a vindaloo enema.
May 5th 2010, 16:32
This Is England?! Are you kidding me!!! One of the most overrated films I have ever seen! If you was just looking to include Shane Meadows, the correct answer was Dead Man's Shoes - Paddy has never been better.
I could go on with what should/shouldn't be included, but that would turn into an essay.
Oh, and Police Academy 3 is clearly the best one - all hail Zed!
May 5th 2010, 16:37
Just checked - you gave Dead Man's Shoes four stars?!
May 16th 2010, 9:29
hmm just reading this and nice list but im surprised at some of the choices not one of these following films made the grade??
twelve angry men
the usual suspects
american history x
oh well could be worse just read a top 100 where kes was listed as the greatest film of all time! haha really!!??
May 22nd 2010, 0:16
this is england !!!! was this some inside joke.
Jul 13th 2010, 1:49
a strange list. errr the Matrix?? no? OK.
Coloured purple is right sequels should be included for others...Back to the Future 2, The Godfather 2...
This is England...wow
Sep 18th 2010, 5:35
The wild bunch, a clockwork orange, Platoon, wizard of oz, Seven, Schindlers list, The Matrix, Taxi driver and twelve monkeys could and should be in your list, at least 3 of them. Avatar visually stunning but dialogue very weak, it could easily be swapped with any of the movies above I have mentioned. Godfather should be changed to Godfather 1&2, seeing that LOTR is counted as trilogy. Finding Nemo can be questioned here, especially when I feel Toy Story seems to be overlooked. This is England shouldn't be in the list but it is a decent film. It is a good list, I generally agree with most of it, most gutted that the wild bunch wasn't there.

dont know about everyone else, but i love the lion king. surely got to rival this is england for a place though.
Dec 18th 2010, 0:06
like everyone else has said, quite a few films missing that would be in mine but its an impossible task to make a list everyone agrees with. good effort though
Jan 13th 2011, 23:59
Excuse me, where is the Dollars trilogy? And did I not see a Terminator movie in there?
Jan 22nd 2011, 6:42
Two huge faults I: No The Good the Bad and the Ugly and no Trainspotting!?
And I just have to assume that the lack of Kubrick films must be because they are just to insanely good for any list.
Feb 2nd 2011, 17:42
Where is Shawshank???
Feb 6th 2011, 7:56
What about "A Star is Born" (1954 Judy Garland)???
Mar 4th 2011, 16:29
This list has a lot of the obvious. Casablanca, Bicycle thieves, M, etc etc etc. But the amount of movies missing is absolutely shocking at the expense of mediocre This is england, Finding nemo and so on. The fact there are approx 11 or 12 inclusions NOT in the english language is the most farcical part of all when you consider that there is no Kurosawa, Ozu, Fellini, Almodavar, Vischonti, and i could go on and on. I would suggest there are 40 films missing from this list.

Nov 15th 2011, 23:53
No Cadyshack? that's got to make the list.. how about fletch lives? dirty dancing or Grease for the ladies. All time classics.
Nov 17th 2011, 13:41
" His Girl Friday" NOT "His Friday Girl"- Morons!
Mar 7th 2012, 15:04
I agree with a lot of the films of this list but I really think the Hurt Locker should be up there.
Jun 28th 2012, 6:49
Aug 7th 2012, 20:59
I am surprised Scarface, three amigos, Unforgiven, Gran Torino, Ferris Beullers Day off or The Wizard of Oz is on the list.
Sep 25th 2012, 1:04
No "Schindler's List"??? No "V For Vendetta"???

Sep 26th 2012, 19:01
