Backstory: Born in prison and forced to serve a life sentence for a crime committed by his father, the grotesquely over-muscled Bane is the product of an experiment with the mysterious serum known as Venom. Brought up hearing of stories of the Batman’s incredible crime-fighting prowess, he vowed to break out and one day destroy him. He’s mad you see. In the comics he becomes known as “The Man Who Broke The Bat”, after snapping the Dark Knight’s spine in two. Ouch.
If Hardy Played Him: He’s got the right sort of physique, although he’d need to do some serious gym-work to measure up to Bane’s distorted frame. Bane is more than just a brute though, and his damaged, obsessive nature would give Hardy plenty to get his teeth into.
Nolan’s Cup Of Tea? The Venom serum is problematic, although that could be tweaked to some kind of experimental hormone treatment. His fierce desire to prove himself against Batman could make for a compelling secondary villain, just so long as he doesn’t end up a two-bit henchman, as he was in Batman and Robin. *Shudder”
Essential Scene: A flashback to his brutal prison upbringing. No need to spend too much time on how he broke out, but we need to see why he is how he is.

On the face of it, Killer Croc would seem one of the more outlandish options, closer in spirit to the Adam West wierdness, but then I brought to mind Brian Azzarello's realisation of Croc: a tall muscle bound African-American thug with (I think) Harlequin Ichthyosis. It worked. Of course, Croc on his own won't be enough as there would need to be an opponent with brains to complement Croc's brawn. Cue Azzarello's Riddler, a tattoo'd, limping semi-hipster...I'd like to see that world realised.

Zsasz was in the first film, played by a nearly unrecognisable Tim something, the lead singer from the band "James"

The last two pointed out what I wanted, so I'll just say - I think you missed a trick by skipping over Hugo Strange. I personally think he's the safe bet. Also, no Riddler? Oh, and IGN just did this feature too! Yours was a little better, despite the Zsasz oversight.

Your essential scene for The Reaper also couldn't happen since they showed the death of Joe Chill in Batman Begins. But otherwise a really good read.

Tony Zucco is a possibility too, if they wan to go down the crime-boss avenue. It does lead to the Dick Grayson origin story so on that front we might be best leaving him out.

And Tom Hardy couldn't be Zsasz because they'd have to recast the part? Right, because Nolan would never recast a tiny non-speaking role from Begins... even though he recast the pivotal role of Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight... No, Nolan never would never recast such a tiny part. I'm disappointed.

I would love him to play Hush alongside Joseph Goron Levitt's Riddler... come on you know you all want it to happen.

"You changed things, forever!"-the Joker As Batman is considered a murderer and the Joker and the mob are out of comission, there will be opportunities for villains and vigilantes. Someone, or more than one person, will probably fill in for Bats. And of course, numerous baddies will try to gain control of Gotham's underworld. So I expect Gotham will look like a warzone in the film: villains vs. vigilantes and villains vs villains and vigilantes vs viglantes. Only Batman will be able to bring order back to Gotham and restore his image as a good guy.

I'd like Nolan to go with a newish villain & Hush would be my fav' choice, plus the twists of the hush story would appeal to Nolans style. Personally I actually think Tom will be Clark Kent/Superman, thus setting up a link for the upcoming superman movie that Nolan is producing, WBros will favour the connection to the huge Batman franchise & I think tom would be such a left field choice as Superman that it could be great - he's certainly big enough physically. Just glad that Tom id involved because I think he's a superb actor & was the best thing about the disappointing 'Inception' hope Nolan's back on form for Batman 3.

Just coming back to this article after today's news and just felt the need to point out dalidab1982 that I wasn't talking to you or referring to your post, but rather to the author of the article and the article itself. Sheesh, get over yourself.
