Alas as a Godzilla fan I feel the uncontrollable desire to point out the many flaws in this feature. 1. Gamera: Firstly Gamera is NOT a Godzilla monster, it’s a creature from a different studio Daei; Godzilla is owned by Toho. A Gamera vs. Godzilla movie has been rumoured but never happened due to the legal issues, so no, Gamera is as likely to be in the Legendary’s Godzilla as The Green Goblin is to be in Batman 3. 2. Mothra: Firstly Mothra did not appear first in Mothra vs. Godzilla, rather she appeared in the earlier film simply titled Mothra. Mothra vs. Godzilla is essentially a sequel to that film, as well as a sequel to King Kong vs. Godzilla. Plus, the feature claims the egg is from space; the film opens with the egg been unearthed in a thunderstorm, very much from earth, not from space. 3. Rodan: Rodan is NOT green and never has been, the picture above which is from Rodan’s later appearance in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II (1993) even shows him as red. 4. Ghidorah: Ghidorah: The Three headed Monster is cited as the first film in which Ghidorah (sometimes spelt Ghidrah) appears; this is correct. However; the origin section details the plot from the later film Godzilla vs. Monster Zero, in Ghidorah’s first appearance he was seemingly acting as a free agent. 5. Gigan: No blasts issue from Gigan’s strange claw things. Apart from this slight error this section is okay, but, it does fail to mention Gigan’s awesome buzz-saw on his front, an odd omission. 6. Hedorah: You really have been a silly-billy here, Hedorah looks like a model in that picture because it’s a picture of a TOY! Made by mattel I think. That is not Hedorah as he appears in the film. 7. King Kong: “according to Godzilla lore” is a phrase you use to claim that Kong crosses a bridge from Asia to Skull Island to eat women or something. No. Kong, in the Godzilla series, comes from Faro Island, and eats berries, which is strange, but a far cry from women. 8. Varan: Varan only appeared very briefly in a Godzilla film and never came into conflict with him. The whole “table-tennis” thing comes from Godzilla’s fight with Ebirah, and some other small moments in other films, but never involving Varan. 9. Manda: Not many problems here, except that you state that Godzilla.com didn’t make Manda clear enough for you, I’d watch the film then, isn’t that what research is, isn’t that fairly vital in film journalism; that you watch the films you criticise. 10. Mechagodzilla: All good here, although you I don’t understand the condenscending “really, really”, the whole going back to space for repairs thing isn’t that illogical, especially when the same film features a giant lion monster bursting from a mountain. 11. SpaceGodzilla: Fine, absolutely fine. 12. Jean Reno has never been in a Godzilla movie; that thing in that film was not Godzilla. Normally totalfilm do hold a high standard for quality, but this is very disappointing, I must say though Godzilla is somewhat niche, and not many people are as huge fans of it as me. But the films have influenced a lot of directors that you champion regularly, Tarantino, Spielberg, and Burton have stated that they are fans. Spielberg even once said “{the original} Godzilla was the most masterful of dinosaur movies because it made you believe it was really happening” (Ryfle, Steve, 1998), Perhaps the series deserves a little more respect.

Jean Reno was born in Spain, but his family fled to Morrocco to escape Franco's dictatorship. So he is technically Spanish..no?

Its like Mel Gibson is considered an Aussie actor despite being born in New York, his family moved to Aus, became naturalised Aussies, it says on passport, its all very confusing!
