Hmmm, if transformers 2 was so s**t how come you said: But Fallen so frequently approaches the first pic’s all-out awesomeness, and even occasionally surpasses it - notably in an opening blitzkrieg in Shanghai and a forest face-off between Optimus Prime and three Decepticons impressive enough to merit comparison with King Kong’s multiple T-Rex smackdown - that it's this close to being the perfect summer flick. And then gave it a four star cinema review?

Agreed can you say Terminator 3 and Terminator Salvation? Thats two films too far. I say bring on Transformers 3, but about 45 minutes less. It ain't gonna be Shakespeare, but as a popcorn film goes you can watch it. Where as the Terminator 3 and 4, well you know what I am saying if you have watched them.

That's Roseanne BARR, not "Roseanne ARQUETTE"! Worst threequel in my opinion? Poltergeist3, Robocop 3, Underworld - Rise of the Lycans, Blade Trinity and Candyman - Day of the Dead. Or Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles...

Well done to TOURSIVEU for coming up with six brilliant suggestions, when the pro's had to make up a Transformer movie that hasn't even been made yet. I'll put the cat amongst the pigeons and Say Return of the Jedi. And since Indiana jones and the Temple of Doom is a PRE-Quel that makes Kingdom of the Crystal Skull a THREE-Quel to Raiders. Have that.

I'd like to thank ChrisWootton for pointing out Totalfilm's Transformers 2 review so I didn't have to. By the way, Alien 3 (especially the directors cut) is a great film.

Totalfilm often gives a film a good review to satisfy/suck-up to the film-makers (see Harry Potter, Jumper, Hulk, Die Hard 4) and then later slates said film. I mean seriously Jumper got more stars than Iron Man!

No Saw? The formula had got tired by the time the third Saw came around, let alone we're going into the 7th. For those of you having a go at TotalFilm regarding the Transformers 2 review, reviews are written by individuals. Clearly, the reviewer liked it. That said, it doesn't mean that everyone at the TotalFilm office has to like it. Many people who saw Transformers didn't like it but some did. TotalFilm reflects that. I'm not sure that Godfather should be in there. it's not that bad. So glad Home Alone 3 is because it's such a turd of a movie.

Alien 3 really isn't as bad as all that. It's Citizen Kane compared to Alien 4.

Vespertine is bang-on-the-money. Alien 3 is extremely underrated! The special edition of the third is one of the best things about quadrilogy boxset. Including Godfather III shows a real lack of imagination. OK, it's far from being a perfect film, but there are so many threequels out there that really deserve to be named and shamed. I mean I'm half-cut as I think of worse threequels! Including... Rambo III Robocop III Underworld III Crocodile Dundee in LA The Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift Starship Troopers III Universal Solider III I digress... Lastly, I hate the Transformers films, but the third one hasn't even been made yet, so why include it in the list? Shouldn't you have written an intro instead? Use it to show the inspiration for this feature instead of including it?

Firstly, I just want to pick up on Faers' last point and agree that using Transformers 3 as a preamble to set-up this article/list would have made perfect sense - that's how Empire would have done it.... Secondly, isn't Terminator 3 redeemed somewhat by the way that it ends? Terminator 4 on the other hand, had an appalling ending. Whoever suggested Return of the Jedi for this list needs a good talking to. It ended the original trilogy almost perfectly, apart from those pesky Ewoks, of course.

id like to throw in mad max 3, coming after the brutality of its predesssors, it was weighed down by commerical interests, (ie star who provides hit single, lovable moppets) not so much mad as slightly disappointed max...lets hope Tom Hardy brings back the pain and hardship in 'fury road', same goes for lethal weapon 3, not bad but too reliant on comedy japes

I also have one little niggle "How Could It Be Improved? Abort, Autobots. Abort before it’s too late!" as written in the main text. As Transformers 3 is not written or started shooting how can you "past tense" refer to something that has not been created. Shame on you Total Film

Oi! Lay off Alien 3, TF. Granted, it's a scarred beastie that wears it's production injuries on a (very) blood-spattered sleeve. All things considered, it has a 'damaged goods' feel to it that at least garners my sympathies and oddly feeds into its fatalistic groove. Plus it has Eliot Goldenthal's finest work associated with it. Anyone else think the same? NO? Oh.

To include a film that hasn't been made yet on this list, and also Alien 3 (which is decent), and yet not include Scream 3, the single worst trilogy finale ever, really makes you wonder how much time you put into your features. Zilch.

Since the fact that Look Who's Talking Now is on the list, its evident that you are including movies that follow on from other movies which weren't fantastic either, so why not include these Addams Family Reunion The Grudge 3 Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer instead of some of the other suggestions that were on the list, why not put in movies that actually were c**p and a waste of time and money - instead of ones that you just didn't like

You have ommitted the greatest crime in cinematic history. A film so sockingly bad, it destroyed the series reputation. The film of which i speak is of course (whisper it) Robocop 3. Yes i know the first 2 arent exactly deep emotional masterpieces, but the third film i cant watch. "Lets give Robocop a jetpack"...Lets not. "Lets have Robocop help a resistance after his friend gets shot"...Why???

@ ChrisWootton, Well said! My faith in Total Film was REALLY shaken when I read that review, thankfully they gave it 2 stars in the DVD review, which is far closer to what it deserves.

I love Halloween III. It's probably more than a bit of nostalgia, but as a slice of horror.....is it really that bad?
