The Character: Otherwise known as Duncan, Man-At-Arms is one of the three people who know He-Man's secret identity, and is one of the primary characters in the show.
Despite being built like a Grayskull outhouse, Man-At-Arms is peaceful by nature, preferring to talk rather than fight. With that in mind, we're not entirely sure how he became known as 'Heroic Master Of Weapons.'
But that's mainly because we don't know many pacifists who spend their spare time collecting clubs with spikes in them.
The Actor: Tom Hardy's already shown he can bulk up to Man-At-Arms levels as Bronson and Bane, and he possesses the soulful eyes and sensitive delivery required to put across the character's peaceful nature.
But, perhaps most importantly, he can grow a really impressive mustache.
Possible Problems: Hardy's become accustomed to the Nolan approach to filmmaking, and He-Man director John Chu doesn't have quite the back-catalogue that Chris does. Though we're sure the Justin Bieber movie is excellent, it probably isn't as good as Batman Begins.

You know what, i'll admit I cannot actually remember the cartoon from the 80's all that well. I know i watched it and had some of the toys, but for the life of me I cannot remember it. I rewatched the Lundgren film recently and its still fairly entertaining, if a little heavy on the Star Wars riffing. Think they should leave out any 'travelling to the planet Earth' story arcs though. DOes anyone remember hearing about a script that was doing the rounds a few years back that was supposed to be quite epic?

You are probably thinking of the mystical "Grayskulll" script that was apparenty decent. Can't see half of these characters being in a He-Man film, some of them are way too chessy (Buzz-Off, Trap Jaw) and it would just be too many characters, some of which would suffer from "X-Men" syndrome and have naff all to do.

Personally I hope none of these actors get the roles they've suggested above. It needs to be more like X-men: First Class and get unknown good character actors instead of the A-list dreamlist above. Hemsworth as He-Man - c'mon surely you can be a bit more imaginative than that TF!?

What if Liam Hemsworth plays Prince Adam and Chris Plays He-man, then all the girls can wear Team Adam and Team He-man shirts while writing slash fiction

Wow the most exciting thing about this cast is that the movie will be the most expensive movie ever made, before the actual shooting of the movie. So many better choices for He-man too, Hemsworth is Thor now, he cant be He-Man too, like having Rober Downy Jr play Iron man, but also Batman, Superman and the Punisher. How about that guy from Spartacus Jai Courtney that guy IS HEMAN and would come at a fraction of the cost as Hemsworth, just take his character from Spartacus, hair and all and put a metal he man vest on him and you got He-Man. LOL Phoenix as a minor sometimes character Iron Fist, im sure he would jump at the chance. "YES! THIS IS MY SHOT BACK TO THE BIG TIME!
