    Nice list.. arguably the ending of Shivers is a happy ending where Hobbes finally gives in (as has everyone else) to his more basic wants and desires. You could pretty much put the whole of the Fly in this list.. there's some sick stuff in there..

    The arm wrestling scene in The Fly, the wince inducing nose-pummell scene in History of Violence..ouch!

    Cronenberg is a master at producing great violent and sex scenes. Number 8 - Eastern Promises was f*****g awesome. The naked fight scene in the Turkish bath is a tour de force of violent ballet. Cronenberg's fascination with the body's vulnerability is memorable here, stripped down and utterly alone, like birth and death.
