The Film: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968)
The Sitter: The name has it. This guy’s a professional child-catcher, and one of the scariest villains ever created for the big screen. Naturally, he was the product of Roald Dahl's fevered imagination.
Inappropriate How? Um, your kids won’t be there when you get back home.

Hi On this subject, i agree with alot of the choices here. But i would severly doubt the parenting skills of the people employing some of these as licensed carers. However, i disagree with Hannial Lecter/Lektor, whilst being a sociopath with a more than slight messianiac complex. He has never shown any annimosity toward children. The main area of his episodes have been against those who have in some way sort to harm or be rude to hannibal himself. It would be my reckoning that hannibal would indeed be the perfect baby sitter, as his dilusions and memories of his own sisters would enspire him to treat the child well. Take for instance, the encoutner with child on the plane in the book "Hannibal", sadly not included within the film. He treats the child well and is a better parent figure than the hordes you see coming out of Greggs on a saturday.

Didn't Roald Dahl do the screenplay for this not the novel from which the child catcher comes from? Ian Fleming should be credited for the extremely creepy character?

@emrys1666 Unbelievably, the Child Catcher didn't appear in Fleming's original novel, and was entirely a creation of Roald Dahl. Still, yes, creepy as. @Vampyre Didn't Hannibal try to feed the kid in Hannibal some human brains? Not sure we'd want our kids to be quite so experimental with their food...

@joshwinning - this was exactly my point, why do you thin Greggs pies and pastys are so cheap. i think all of us have had a little brain at some point, but you would agree he never hurt the child and brain is full of protein.
