Why We’re Excited: She's the magpie of the film world. Or the carrion crow, depending on your perspective (and who she's judging at that time). Of course, the Oscars aren’t really about film awards – they’re about the frocks, and Joan Rivers’ annual Fashion Police report revels in picking out the beauties and the beasts.
Despite looking like Mumm-Ra, Rivers knows her fashion – and her roasts. “[Holly Hunter’s outfit] looked like a tramp’s communion dress,” is just one of her blinders. Not even the fellas gets off lightly: “Tim Robbins – I swear there’s a naked man in Taiwan with $10 in his hand” … “Kevin Spacey looks like a waiter, I feel like I should ask him for a sandwich” … “Denis looks like a doorman at a gay bed and breakfast…”
How It Could Go Wrong: Natalie Portman flies into a rage at being criticised and storms backstage to rip Rivers a new one. Actually, is that so wrong?

Would be great if Toy Story 3 won best picture but really cant see it happening. If a juggernaut like Avatar cant even win then it has no chance. The academy rarely go beyond smart drama/thrillers. In a word they're d***s.

I'd like to see Jennifer Lawrence pick up best actress but since she's not A-list or friends with voters (hello Gwyneth Paltrow) its unlikely. Speaking of which, Jennifer Aniston is only A-list becuase she has the 'mark of Brad' upon her, none of her films make her worthy of that category. Furthermore, NEVER in a 1000 years will 'Shakespeare in love' be considered a better movie than 'Saving Private Ryan', it only won becuase of 'Bribegate'....pheww...

Ha-ha, imagine Rapace walks out to get her award as Salander, gets to the podium, takes the 'baldie' and then just stares at the audince giving them that expressionless gaze for about a minute in complete silence, and then just walks away...

I would love for Rapace to be even nominated for Best Actress; if she wins it that would be so much better :D

Whoever hasn't seen Animal Kingdom yet is missing out big time. Best movie of 2010. Watch it if you haven't (when it comes out).

I don't think the reason Avatar didn't get last year's Best Picture was due to it being a 'juggernaught', it just had a pretty Pocahontas/Fern Gully/really basic script. It was still awesome though, but i thought Hurt Locker deserved it. Inception; best picture, Colin Firth; best Actor, Natalie Portman; best actress. Not too sure who i think will get best director, would like it do be Christopher Nolan or Darren Aronofsky but i think it'll probably go to David Fincher..
