20 Greatest Movie Entrances
Awesome arrivals

The Terminator (1984)
The Entrance: The Austrian Oak is given the perfect platform to strut his stuff as the Terminator materialises in 1984, minus his clothes.
First Appearance? It certainly is, and one that gives Arnie the chance to show off his gym-toned arse. All those squats were worth it after all!
Why So Awesome: Whichever way you cut it, Schwarzenegger looks pretty damn imposing here, and the way he deals with the trio of cyber-punk smartarses is particularly gratifying. “Your clothes… give them to me. Now.” Cinematic gold.

I'm sorry but how ..HOW can you not have Blade's entrance in the nightclub? That has to be the greatest character entrance of all time.

Finally, a countdown worth reading on TF! Great list, can't fault it. I would have liked it though if you could have somehow squeezed in Trinity from The Matrix. That is an entrance and a half!

Great list. Delighted to see Lawrence of Arabia so high up the list. Have to say my favorite entrance this year has to be that of 'The Plague' in Hobo with a Shotgun.

I don't mean to be a bother, but I'm PRETTY sure that the "Imperial March" was introduced in The Empire Strikes Back.

I like Robocops entrance, where you only catch a glimpse of him entering the police station and the 'thump thump thump' of his robo-legs, then the shooting range where he obliterates the target and holsters the gun INSIDE his thigh. Sweet!

I really like the entrance of John Mason (Sean Connery) in The Rock.... great cinematography, mysterious, threatening, great music...

Always thought The Rock's entrance in Welcome To The Jungle was pretty sweet, the nightclub scene where he kicked all sorts of a*s. Not only was it his main intro into the movie as Beck, but also his intro into proper action movies, with the Arnie "have fun" line too.

Good list. But just for the way they changed the way movies were made and watched, I would have to say Jaws & Star Wars should be #1 & #2, in that order. I would be okay with #2, #1, but not having them at the top is crazy. Also, Jason walking out in FT13th Part 3 with the hockey mask on for the 1st time was also an iconic film entrance.

So, for a guy a great entrance means being cool or dangerous looking. For a woman a great entrance means being foxy or sexually provocative.

Blade, The Matrix and The Rock are you joking? bloody hell. The Star Wars suggestion was that the Imperial March theme appeared LATER, it does not say in the same film. The prince's entrance in Hamlet by Kenneth Branagh, Robocop's first appearence, Indiana Jones in Raiders of the lost Ark and James Bond's reintroduction in Casino Royale. The first appearence of the robbers in Heat.

Really? Seriously? Cameron Diaz? No, you can't be serious. That scene was completely forgettable. Something though I'm stunned no one here has mentioned is that you left out possibly one of the most memorable scenes in cinematic history. The on screen entrance of Superman. When Clark / Kal-El spends most of the first part of the movie in normal clothing, the appearance of Superman after learning of his past in the fortress of solitude, the scene cuts to a wide angle of Superman, full suit, flying towards the screen. Which had never been done in such a way before. Which is why the tag lines were almost always "You will believe a man can fly." Your lack of horror (aside from Seven and Aliens) was also tiresome. All due respect, I hope you're aware that just because YOU list these as the 20 Greatest Movie Entrances... doesn't exactly mean they ARE the 20 Greatest Movie Entrances.
