The Film: Commando
The Fight: After knocking seven bells out of a private army of heavily armed goons, Arnie’s retired Special Forces hard-case John Matrix finally comes face to face with turncoat mercenary Bennett (Vernon Wells). Despite having brushed off all-comers along the way, Matrix finds himself in a surprisingly evenly-matched knife fight…
The Victor: Matrix of course. Just as sneaky old Bennett reaches for his gun, Arnie impales him with a massive steel pipe. All together now… “Let off some steam Bennett!”
If It Had Been More Realistic: Yeah so apparently he’s some granite tough, specially-trained hand-to-hand specialist, but you can’t ignore the fact that Bennett is a tubby camp bloke, and Matrix is, well, Arnie. He would have been gutted like a pig in an abattoir within minutes…

I read somewhere that Marvin and Moore never got on during filming. Marvin was a raving alcoholic at the time and I think Moore got on it one night. Subsequently they had words and punches were thrown. Marvin ended up on his a**e. I've heard a few things about Moore being quite tasty. If this is true then, Total Film, you might be wrong in saying 'there is just no way on God’s Green Earth that Roger Moore could beat Lee Marvin in any sort of fight'.

The main man (the Editing Room) said it best about the MI3 showdown: PHILLIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN It’s not over yet. You and I need to fight. MICHELLE MONAGHAN It’s the ultimate grudge match! Trained special agent versus fat guy!

Seriously, I don't know how anyone could have a list like this without Indiana Jones vs the Bald German Dude from Raiders of the Lost Ark. Arguably the best mismatched fight in cinema history.

Surely most of the battles in Lord of the Rings trilogy are mismatched. The battle at the end of fellowship is amazing. Not as large scale as the battles in Two Towers and Return of the King but in Fellowship it is basically just the fellowship of the ring agains an army.
