4. It's Not A Matrix Rip-Off
“Humans can’t breathe the air on Pandora, so it was decided to create a human/Na’vi hybrid via genetic engineering, called the Avatars.
They’re living, breathing bodies in a real world, not synthetic alter egos- this is not a Matrix style story. They’re controlled by a human driver, who projects their consciousness onto the Avatar body.”
Why This Makes Us Even More Excited
We're glad Cameron's pointed out that this isn't a Matrix style story - the similarities to that franchise was one of our only worries when we heard the original pitch.

5. Sam Worthington Will Show Some Range
“Our main character, Jake Sully, a marine who is wounded in combat, paralysed and goes to Pandora.
In his Avatar body, he can walk, he can run, he can live again. He finds himself caught between the military/industrial complex on Earth and the Na’vi.”
Why This Makes Us Even More Excited
We knew most of this already - but something about the way Cameron describes it - 'he can walk, he can run, he can live again' - makes it sound really joyous; we can't wait to see a giddy Worthington.

This baby is either going to be Cameron's "Schindler's List" or his "Heaven's Gate." The bar's set too high for there to be any in-between.

In a time when Hollywood seems to be obsessed with prequels, sequels and reboots here's James Cameron proving that there still are an original thought or two left in Hollywood. Am unbelievably excited about this movie.

Im hopeful but concerned. No doubt this will be a UK 12a/US PG-13 so they can try and get as many people in and make as much money as possible. I understand that, but such films are usually 'watered down for the masses', and end up being weak, cartoonish, special-effects action films (like the Mummy films or Transformers films). Cameron has a great track record but no-one only makes great films (Speilberg hasn't managed it in 15 years, and he's one of the best!), so im going to temper my excitement until we know a bit more.
Also im red/green colour blind so the 3D could be a problem - anyone know?
