I'm shocked that you didn't include Repo Man (1984). The soundtrack contain an amazing sample of Westcoast punk from the mid-80s: Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Suicidal Tendancies. Let's not forget Iggie Pop didn't the title song!

This feels like a collection of soundtrack albums you can buy as opposed to soundtrack in the sense of being what you hear as you watch the film. In that regard, this list is severely lacking Ennio Moriconne (just 1 score worthy of mention, seriously??), Joe Hisaishi, James Horner, John Barry, Nick Cave & Warren Ellis, Philip Glass, Yeong-Wook Jo (aka the Oldboy/Lady Vengeance lad) Taro Iwashiro & Harry Gregson Williams (to name but a few)

No Saturday night fever? Travolta walkin in step to 'Stayin Alive'? One of the biggest selling soundtracks of all time? Well I've heard of it.

I'm surprised High Fidelity never made the list. That movie itself is a glorified tribute to great music.

Chariots Of Fire over Blade Runner? Very odd indeed.

Good enough list, glad Pretty in Pink got a mention, but I can't believe 24 Hour Party People and Human Traffic never got a mention. Both represented certain era's in dance music particularly HT for me as it was pretty much what I was into at the time and wasn't far off what the clubbing scene was like for me, even if it isn't a great film the soundtrack was spot on. Don't forget the chessy classics too: Top Gun Rocky 3&4 The Karate Kid Others that should be on the list include: Saturday Night Fever High Fidelity The Wedding Singer Forrest Gump Midnight Express Boogie Nights Adventureland Nice one TF, another feature to get us talking!

This list is weak. No Harold and Maude (best use of music to set the mood in a film ever), Valley Girl with the awesome 80's music, and Pulp Fiction which is just awesome; it is way better then Reservoir Dogs sound track. Repo Man is another awesome sound track and what about some of the Rocky movies? Rocky I. II, or III?
