Potty-mouthed powerhouses
Funny How? So these guys are stars? Well, actually yes. Parker and Stone may be scripters and directors first, but their gleefully cruel creations would be nothing without the yuk-yuk-yanking voices the pair offer their on-screen alter egos.
These two don’t just push taboos and shove taste boundaries, they carpet-bomb them and piss on the smoking ruins. Whether ripping into Jerry Bruckheimer with puppet adventure Team America or, most famously, crafting the finest musical since The Sound Of Fucking Music, in South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, the boys have proven that good taste and good comedy rarely mix.
Their hit musical, The Book Of Mormon, is currently being prepped for a movie adaptation.

Okay a few things... As Bad Teacher proved, Cameron Diaz will never be funny not by a long shot. I didn't know Goldie Hawn won an Oscar, fair play! The man with 2 brains is so bonkerrs its hilarious: "Well, the operations seems to be a success. But the doctor died. " lol

How are all THEY better than Pythons!? Will Ferrell I agree with though... but Eddie Murphy? That high up? I guess it's taste/opinion but I rate Mike Myres higher than him...

Nice list...agreed on many! And also agree on the praise of "Midnight Run"...brillant movie from beginning to end! I also would have added "Dan Aykroyd" and "Chevy Chase" here on the list! They had some good stuff in their prime. And I miss very very much the great "John Belushi" here.....he might have lived a short while only....but he lived it hard!

Pleased to see Wody Allan quite high but any list without Charlie Chaplin or Buster Keaton is not a true list.

So Mike Myers is "Certainly the funniest Canadian born after the 1930s (see Leslie Nielsen) and not called Jim (Carrey, born in Ontario)" but is immediatelyl followed on the list by John Candy who you point out is.....Canadian. Fail.

Oh and i too don't rate Will Ferrell as highly as some others seem to do. His comedy is just a little too in-your-face for my liking.

Robin Williams got a well deserved mention, but without 'Worlds Greatest Dad'!? Best thing he's done in years!! And, Will Ferrell can be truly fantastic.. If he's kept under control by good editing. Anchorman and Blades of Glory are good examples of this. Talladega Nights and Stepbrothers are NOT.

Sorry! - have you put Robert DeNiro down as funnier than Laurel & Hardy! And the Marx Brothers. And 22 others. Did you see the Focker films. Or Rocky and Bull-achily Unfunny-winkle. He can't be at the top of every list.

Bobby D??? The guy is one of the best actors of all-time, but funniest? I think not. Hell, any of the Apatow guys, Adam Sandler crew, or Danny McBride fraternity are funnier than him. And how is Phil Hartman not on this list? Every scene he has ever done, regardless of how bad the rest of the movie was, is classic.

I have not found any of Will Ferrells films funny or amusing....... just boring and terrible, the rest is a pretty good list and yes the Python team should be a lot further up on this list!

My number 1 & 2 would be Jim Carrey or Mike Myers. Dumb & Dumber and Wayne World 2 are unbeatable.

Too many marmites in here for me. Eddie Murphy may have been funny once (three times at most!), but surely his decline knocks him out of the running. I mean, Meet Dave? The Golden Child? Beverly Hills Cop 3? Jim Carrey is at his best when playing the straight man, even in The Mask where it makes sense of the alter ego. And where's Sacha Baron Cohen? I'm not a particular fan, but in terms of commitment to his art he surely has to score higher than many on the list. Parker and Stone should merit a greater ranking too.
