Why It’s Great: Cops and gangsters set aside their petty feuding in order to tackle a common enemy – zombies! French directors Yannick Dahan and Benjamin Rocher assault the screen with hopped up action aesthetics, mashed through a brilliant undead blender. It’s ridiculous, but awesome.

All very nice and glum, but some of us arent Guardian readers and prefer a bit of escapism to the portenous naval-gazing

Good article... However I've seen The Horde and found it extremely irritating... We all know that if found in a situation involving zombies the way to kill one is to destroy the brain by any means necessary... The amount of times you find yourself shouting at the movie to just shoot it in the head is ridiculous... very annoying...

Hence the title 2010 films you might have missed, Hadouken76. Escapism is well provided for in the main pages of Total Film, it's nice to see a list of films that deserve more attention. I haven't seen any of these, so thanks for the heads up.

"Lymelife" is set in 1970s Long Island, not New Jersey, which is made clear repeatedly. If it was New Jersey, Emma Roberts' speech about always hearing the train because you can never get far enough away doesn't make sense anymore.

Only two I have seen are Humpday and Exit Through the Gift Shop. Both were brilliant, I shall have to check out more of these.
