Timey-Why Me? The TARDIS' 11th official incumbent has been a hit with fans and the public, thanks to his combination of youthful vigour and professorial nuttiness.
Ideal Companion: It'd be hard to argue against the prospect of seeing current partner-in-crime Amy Pond's (Karen Gillan) long legs on the big screen.
Who costume: Smith's already rocking a suitably Doctorish look with his punk'd up tutor's image, but keep the fez from the recent series finale. Fezes are cool.
Regenerate Or Exterminate? Neither: keep him in the television Pandorica until his stock has risen.
Smith sadly doesn't have the global recognition needed to greenlight a major movie. His most notable film role to date, playing the young Ralph Fiennes in In Bruges, ended up on the cutting-room floor.

Sorry! 'Fraid I was at the mercy of the bookies' picks, and they're showing a distinct lack of imagination or variety on this.

I presume they will go with the teenage market and pick pattinson or depp. Even though I'm not a massive Doc Who fan, Hugh Laurie would be the balls at this. Just the right energy and gravitas!

Why do we need a new doctor for the film: your right it will clash with the lore having a 12th doctor when the 11th hasn't regenerated yet. So the only way you can do it is to cast Smith (which would be good) Eccelson (pre re-boot) or have an actor play the first doctor (so have an origin) or someone play the eighth doctor. There, you can see I put some real thought into this

Too much thought Raybros....Just give it to Cameron and Sam Worthington...It's already a pudding cup of an idea....where have all the decent casting agents gone....!!!!

contraversial suggestion but what about Chiwitel Ejiofor? Or Rhys Ifans?

Chiwitel Ejiofor would be inventive and brave....but this is the BBC we are talking about...play it safe always! Should be Rutger Hauer or see if Peter Wyngarde is still about!

Chiwetel Ejiofor or Rhys Ifans? Would be awesome, particularly Ejiofor who is not only cool and mean (check out Serenity) but is also one with proper acting chops too. A lot of these options seem 'cool' or 'zany'. How about 'gentleman' in the vein of the early doctors, by casting Bill Nighy? Still think would Chiwetel Ejiofor be a total win as he's also got movie experience but wouldn't cost a bomb and doesn't have baggage like Depp who is frankly becoming too much of the go to guy for zany.
