One year after the original V/H/S premiered at Sundance, its follow-up returned to wreak more havoc.
A portmanteau movie comprising four found-footage horror shorts directed by a variety of up-and-coming genre filmmakers, S-VHS plays like all good sequels: bigger, better and a lot more intense.
Adam Wingard’s ‘Clinical Trials’ sees a man with an artificial eye haunted by otherworldly visions, while Blair Witch’s Eduardo Sanchez and Gregg Hale offer a fresh perspective on the zombie movie with ‘A Ride In The Park’.
The Raid’s Gareth Evans and Timo Tjahjanto take over for ‘Safe Haven’, the film’s grisly centrepiece set in the commune of an Indonesian cult, while Hobo With A Shotgun helmer Jason Eisener rounds things off with the loud, frenetic ‘Slumber Party Alien Abduction’.
Unlike its predecessor, there’s no room for breathers here… S-VHS moves along at a clip, offering a no-holds-barred horror that’s admirably ambitious and consistently entertaining.

Of course, in the real world, most porn addicts wouldn't bag someone like Johansson. At least I think. You'd more than likely end up with the 50 cigs a day 30 year old with 17 kids who looks like she's 55.

I truly cannot give a s**t when people say Radcliffe is good in a movie, it is physically impossible.

Fruitvale won the Grand Jury Prize and should definitely be number one; i was there in the theater during the first showing of it and everybody was in tears.
