Except 28 Weeks Later (because it would be good to finish off a decent trilogy) I wouldn't want to see sequels to ANY of these films! I'd rather see some fresh and new ideas coming out instead!

The Thing's ending does NOT need resolving at all. The ambiguity is fantastic. Why does it need ruining. If you need an explanation, how about this. ------ Mac didn't drink from the bottle he gave Childs, because it was petrol from a Molotov, and Childs being the thing, and trying to appear human, drank it. Mac laughing, finally knows he's the thing.

@jedithegeek - Agreed there, The Thing absolutely does need a sequel. The probability is the film would be s**t anyway, so why ruin a great film, TotalFilm? Morons.

Some of these are so good that a sequel would lessen them. Some are so bad that they shouldn't ever, ever have a sequel.

Besides wholeheartedly agreeing with @jedithegeek and @Jareth64, I would also need to point out your interpretation of the ending of 28 Weeks Later is completely wrong. The outbreak wasn't already in France when the helicopter landed. The outbreak in France was 28 days after the helicopter with the survivors landed because Andy, the young boy, was a carrier of the Rage virus even though he was immune to its effects. He ended up infecting others causing a new outbreak.

Is this tongue-in-cheek? Some of the plots are so bad they could make it to a real movie...

I already have a sequel idea for The Purge, and it has nothing to do with the characters from the first. See, "The Purge" should become an anthology series, following different people on the same night, with different plots and genres. The Purge 2? Road movie/romantic comedy. Here's the pitch: A lonely man pines over the long lost love of his life. He's so depressed that he doesn't even want to Purge during the next week. However, his best (female) friend reminds him that if there are no laws, there's no one to enforce the restraining order that his lost love has on him. The two set out on a whirlwind adventure, avoiding rapists, murderers, cannibals, thieves, arsonists, mobs, motorcycle gangs, vandals, serial litterers and unrepentant jaywalkers so one man can reunite with the girl who wants nothing to do with him. But... perhaps there's something more between our intrepid roadsters? Full of laughs, love, bloody gory violence, but ultimately redemption, "The Purge 2" has the potential to be the feel-good hit of the summer!

Why would anyone want to ruin The Mist by making a sequel? Same with The Thing seriously? Once again a TF writer has shown themselves to have a fundamental lack of understanding of the art of cinema.

@Jareth64 Why do you even come onto this site? All I ever hear from you is insults thrown at TF. If you don't like the content here then YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO

umm... Cloverfield was no where near a horror movie!!! If you are paying folk to do these lists I will happily come on board your team! Last time I heard Paranormal Activity needed ANOTHER ill thought out sequel!

Ha Ha Ha!!! Having a go at someone for expressing an opinion (also known as 'freedom of speech'!!) whilst defending there own 'freedom of speech' as being in someway 'better and more important!! Way to get the concept Jareth64 you dumb f**k!!!!! Whilst the writers of these features oft make mistakes, a touch mote often than to blame human error, and there is no way on god's green earth that most of these need a sequel, if you don't like what's written stop reading and , in the words of "Why Don't You", do something less boring instead! PS Jareth64 get some counselling man, too much rage going on there!!!!

@DivTheWookie - Div, dear, at no point did I tell HughFran to not comment in this section. That's the difference, you dunce. "God's green Earth" - actually the planet is made up mainly of water. And god doesn't exist. So, all in all, your comment is vacuous and illogical. Well done for being thick and missing my points.

I've been subjected to abuse from Jareth64 before now for daring to suggest that one of these lists was substandard, now the hypocritical halfwit is doing exactly the same thing, and with some regularity, he is a t**t. Not keen on any of these suggestions really, unnecessary sequels and remakes are choking the life out of the horror genre, the money is rolling in of course, but original, challenging, thought provoking horror is taking a battering.

Not to pour oil on troubled waters but the ending to the Thing isnt quite as ambiguous as most make out.... If you watch the ending closely once Mac and Childs meet back up, you can only see the fog of Macreedy's breath, NOT Child's, obviously indicating that Childs is the Thing. Even Carpenter says so.....

@craigmustdie - You're a vacuous prick. Each list differs in context. Don't be so pathetically wet, you sad c**t.
