The Lie: You can spot a geek a mile away, what with their glasses, frizzy hair and dungarees…however, if you’re willing to dig a little deeper, you’ll always find an absolute stunner just waiting to come out! Like a butterfly emerging from the cocoon, all these girls need is a comb, a pair of a contact lenses and presto…they’re the prom queen!
The Liars: She’s All That, Clueless, The House Bunny, The Princess Diaries

I always thought that computers could be run by keyboards exclusively, and that the mouse was more for handiness sake than a vital piece of equipment?

Good fun article. Was watching Salt at the weekend and Angelina steals clothes TWICE in the film and both times they just happen to fit her ridiculously boney frame.

I imagine Andy from Shawshank was quite happy for the rain, seems he has just climbed through all that s**t, washed it off him!

In Raiders, Indy 'hilariously' pisked the shirt of a guy who's shorter than him, so, by the time it comes around to Last Crusade he'd have learned the error of his ways and looked for a Nazi his own size. One thing i do hate though is the speed at which they can put clothes on. have you ever tried to remove all of your clothes and put fresh ones on really fast? No, me either, but i bet its not that easy!

Regarding the sucking out of poison, sorry to be a bore, but chances are if you've been stung or bitten by something nasty, it's envenomed you. Not poisoned. Poison is ingested, venom acts in the blood. So, whilst sucking the venom out is probably totally implausible, given the rate at which your blood whooshes around your body, getting said venom (NOT poison!) in your mouth is unlikely to do anything to you unless it is particularly potent and you have a cut in your mouth. Like when you're enjoying a tasty snack, maybe a biscuit or something (I like custard creams) and you bight the inside of your cheek. I hate that! It feels weird as anything for days :-(

You've used 'Made' in the wrong context for said film. And I haven't seen it.

Judging by your comments on rain, "Only the mentally deranged enjoy “getting caught in the rain.” I can feel qualified to tell you that (a) you have never been to india, (b) never ever watched 80s and 90s Bollywood flicks. Do either of these things and your perseption about rain can and will change... as Virginia Chance in Raising Hope put it "Dramastically"!

You forgot to add: If you have a girlfrined/ wife/ fiancee and you are off to war/ imp. meeting etc and she is pregnant, you will die. So, said, there will always be a best-friend/ an ex-boyfriend/ your brother who can fill your "void". The liars: Pearl Harbour, Chances Are

As SiMan mentioned, you have to give props to Raiders of the Lost Ark for actually having the action hero steal clothes which then DON'T fit him. I can forgive Last Crusade - for all we know, Indy beat up four Nazi officers to find one that fit him.

this is a great feature. one flaw i spotted though. Guns can fire when wet. Only the old fashioned powder stuffed guns fail to fire if wet. modern guns can still fire after a dip.

Brill list Total Film!! You only missed two things. 1) Screen births require wild screaming and agony. In reality: seldom more than a grunt. 2) Racism. Brits are ALWAYS bad. Jews are ALWAYS good (they usually fund the film). Americans are ALWAYS brilliant and brave and heroic and good and principled. Hah Hah Hah!

'Screen births require wild screaming and agony. In reality: seldom more than a grunt.' A friend of mine who's just given birth to her daughter would disagree with you there... 'Jews are ALWAYS good (they usually fund the film).' Um... excuse me whut?

Well Done George Wales, great article! Well researched and referenced and very funny. All the things that bugged me in the movies over the years were there..
