The Moment: The Caped Crusader's first appearance in Christopher Nolan's long-overdue franchise reboot.
As Seen In: Batman Begins (2005 film)
Why So Cool: Because the guy's a freakin' ghost for about the first five shots we actually 'see' him in. And, when we properly do, it's in classic bat-dangle pose. Talk about a return to form...
If It Had Been Superman: He'd have descended on the dockland hoods lit up like a Christmas tree to a chorus of triumphant bugles. And there's nothing terrifying about bugles.

One punch! One of my all-time comic books scenes ever. The Justice Leage International run of J. M. DeMatteis and Keith Giffen is truly under-rated. Well done for adding it to your list.

TF, did you read Batman RIP? Bats was buried by the Black Glove and strategically burst his way out. No Superman, no heart attack.

Arkham Asylum is a great story but not really a great moment for Batman. The Joker has the power and the upper hand throughout and Batman feels helpless and is basically emasculated by the challenge he faces. In that story Batman is The Joker's b***h.

@Jeffbiscuits You've got it all wrong dude. Arkham Asylum is the Bats' finest hour. Not only does Joker have the upper hand, Batman also has to deal with Harley Quinn, Bane, Poison Ivy, Killer Croc AND Scarecrow (Zsasz isn't much more than a distraction really) all in ONE night. And by the end of it he even knocks the Joker onto his skinny pale a*s. You ask me, 6 major villains in one night has got to be a personal best for the Dark Knight.
