Cosmopolis? Cogen's Trade? Only God Forgives? The Master? None of those, but you have Men in Black 3 & Battleship? I think I speak for everyone when I say WOW.

Why are you always hating on Cowboys & Aliens?
Dec 19th 2011, 7:53
Headhunters is Norwegian. Not Danish.... -.-
Dec 19th 2011, 10:28
What the hell's going on? You guys have to wait till next year to get The Muppets, War Horse & We Brought A Zoo?

Lucas is having a laugh if he thinks people are going to pay an extra fiver for a film nobody likes. This is just indicative of his lack of imagination and pursuit of more moolah, when all of his friends and colleagues are getting on with the task of making DIFFERENT FILMS. I suspect Spielberg is closer to fellow Oscar-winning directors Jackson and Cameron, seeing how they are actively trying to shape the way films are made, and explore new boundaries. Whereas Lucas has been stuck in Star Wars land for the past 18 yrs and shows no signs of creative progression. Its just a theory.

Headhunters is a Norwegian film, not Danish. Get your facts straight.

The only way TPM is gonna be 'defining' next year is that it'll be the final straw for the small amount of Lucas fan's left in the world!
Dec 19th 2011, 11:18
@StevePotter Because it was s**t, maybe?
Dec 19th 2011, 13:14
Cowboys and Aliens was a bit pants. It was entertaining enough to watch once but I don't really care if I see it again or not. I'd forgot it existed until now.

Is Phyllida a common name. I never heard it before?

Haywire - "Thriller about a covert ops assassin betrayed by her handlers and out for revenge" - is there ever any type of covert ops assassin. Lesson from movie land; if you ever get a job as a covert assassin quit after your first pay-cheque. you will ALWAYS get screwed over by your bosses.
Also, am i the only one is a little concerned Brave could be Pixar's first dud? (we're not counting Cars 2 as that was sequel - that's the rule!) - it looks absolutely stunning, i'll admit. Just doesn't seem to have that certain....magic of their other films.

Clever way of deflecting the recent "enough with the 50 lists already!" criticism.
Dec 19th 2011, 16:16
Oh and don't shoot me or anything but I'll be taking the kids to see TPM and the others too. They never got to see them on the big screen, 3D or no 3D. **ducks**
Dec 19th 2011, 16:20
the list is fine as far as i can tell but joker16's right about one thing.... the master. this is the movie i'm anticipating more than any other. paul thomas anderson's first film since there will be blood. how could you not be excited about this? how could it not make the list? unless of course it's not released next year.
that would be tragic.
but then he's shot it. and they're editing it. and it's hardly gonna be effects heavy.
and yeah another thing... top 50 everything? this has to change

I know I've moaned about spoilers before and you have been putting warnings on since. And maybe I should have been prepared for it with a feature about films that haven't come out yet. And the Twilight films aren't exactly on my to see list. But this is precisely why I didn't watch it in the cinema (other films took precedence). It's not out on DVD yet and you've ow told me that Bella get's turned to a vamp. Again you haven't ruined a film I particularly wanted to see but be a bit more considerate.
Dec 19th 2011, 23:14
I get too excited when I read this list!
Dec 20th 2011, 3:15
Well, I liked Cowboys & Aliens, but I can get why you'd dislike it. I can't get why anyone would HATE it. Not at the level that they seem to.
Dec 20th 2011, 4:41
The three biggest hits of 2012 will be, The Dark Knight Rises, Titanic 3D and The Phantom Menace 3D. Yes, people are stupid enough to pay more money to watch two reruns in 3D.
Dec 20th 2011, 17:52
oh for f**ks sake Murphy... don't be so pedantic. Where have you been hiding all this time? Behind a cabbage? Everyone knows Bella gets turned into a vampire. The books been out for a couple of years, its f*****g everywhere and you can't be that naive to realise...that was going to happen in that s**tfest of a franchise, one you should not be admitting to wanting to watch...
Dec 20th 2011, 19:16
The defining question of 2012. Meryl Streep's Thatcher, would you?
Talk about nailing your colours to the pole!
Dec 20th 2011, 19:18
@Jeffbiscuits - It's a kind of STD i think...
Dec 21st 2011, 3:36
Haywire just looks like its Nikita
Dec 21st 2011, 4:11
hardy has major backne in the Bane image. And as much of a DC fan girl that i am I believe the Hobbit is more anticipated
Dec 21st 2011, 4:20

Dec 21st 2011, 4:33
@thefilmmaster Cowboys and Aliens, Green Lantern and Beastly were all utter bollocks. How you can have those three on your list and claim it is better than total film's i do not know hun x
