And everybody thought Hollywood is running out of ideas! Looks like Turkey and India alone remade every exisiting movie. The Indian Superman looks promising...especially with the sweat stains under his arms. About "Street Fighter" ... not sure which one might be the worse movie here.

Unfaithful was totally ripped off my Bollywood in a movie called Murder. It was a scene to scene copy, even the love making scenes were exactly the same!

Star Wars and The Magnificent 7 are both based on old Japanese stories. So who's ripping off who?

That Turkish Rocky sounds more like a remake of Kickboxer....and just swapped Kickboxing for Boxing.....unless the lead character is called Rocky......in which case it is a remake of Rocky....unless the character in kickboxer had his name changed to Rocky......i'll be quiet now.

Are you high, TotalFilm idiots? How is When Harry met Sally 'pretty much exactly the same' as Hum Tum. Research better, idiots.

Here's an astoundingly large list of Indian knock-offs: hxxp://goo.gl/bvGvs
I always felt "Hari Puttar" was a missed opportunity. Because "Hari Puttar" sounds more like "Home Alone", right?

i am an Indian and trust me when i say this, our industry doesn't have an original bone in their body. barring a few really awesome indie directors and phenomenal actors, the rest of them are just thieves without an iota of creativity. their is even an indian version of E.T. called 'koi mil gaya'

Aiyyo, that's a movie made ages past........It seems to me made before my birth, but I am not being entirely true.....

You know, "Hamlet" is public domain, so it really can't be a rip-off. A re-interpretation or re-imagining maybe, but it seems counterintuitive to say you can rip-off something that's free and open to whatever creativity you'd want to put into it.

#49 "The Hollywood Original: Godzilla"
Right. Since when is "Godzilla" a Hollywood Original? That one belongs on a list of "horrible hollywood rip-offs of foreign films"

#30 The Parent Trap. Also not a Hollywood Original. Based on a german novel by Erich Kästner that was turned into a movie in 1950 which is superior to the 1961 hollywood version or any other version for that matter.

Pretty interesting list. Just a couple of things to say.
There is actually a 1987 Indian film called Superman which is more of a rip-off than the one you mention :-)
Funny thing is Hitch itself is one of the rare cases of Hollywood ripping off Indian film. The original Indian film called Choti Si Baat (A Small Thing) is a 1975 film and follows the same story.
It is not conclusive, but Satyajit Ray, the Indian auteur claimed E.T was based on a treatment he had presented to Columbia Pictures for a film called The Alien, which in turn was based on a short story by Ray called Bankubabur Bandhu (Mr. Banku's Friend)

the Russian winne the pooh was the original not the rip off....
