Ah Nostalgia, protecting us from remembering how bad things were. Actually, that Gravedale high sounds like great, if Aardman Animations could get hold of that, it would be awesome. Youtube Don Cheadle as Capt Planet hahaha

Couldn't agree with you more for the number 1 spot. Absolutely love Bucky O'Hare. In fact, I shot my own 'mock movie' trailer for a modern Bucky O'Hare film for a competition a couple of months back. It ended up winning which was awesome. You can check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dQl3OD2Z-M&list=UUD9lXtTP_SSdS30XnQUve9w&feature=plcp

Awesome awesome list, it led me and my missus to remember other great cartoons of our time. But the pessimist in me feels this has just loaded Michael Bay with movie ideas to destroy for the forseeable future lol

@Heisenberg - Every time I came around to the "dream director" field, I thought, "Michael Bay would probably fancy this"

This sounds like the worst list of films ever Bucky O Hare is sH*t. Lets hope no one reboots these with the exception of Ulysses 31 I like the idea of that one.

M.A.S.K would be absolutely awesome. Biker Mice was my favourite as a nipper, but would be s**t if it lost the mice aspect

What about Freakazoid! that show is ripe for a cinematic adaptation, plus giving Zack Snyder Gargoyles would probably give me the stomach ulcer that kills me

Bananaman gets mentioned without even a word about the Goodies! I bet if a studio got their hands on any of these potentailly great franchises, they would mange to screw each and every one of them up.

I'm almost certain most of these will be picked up by Platinum Dunes sooner or later.

Nice trip down nostalgia lane Wales. I have all the episodes of Mysterious Cities of Gold. Still not go through it all. Epic stuff indeed.

I would watch nearly all of these. Especially Bucky O'Hare, Captain Planet and The Gummy Bears. Not sure I could handle a feature length version of The Animals of Farthing Wood, though. SO MUCH DEATH.

POKEMON. Live action Pokemon. Make Ash a teenager, Make team rocket (Rocket Industries) and corrupt corperation using illegal practices to get what they want (masterball, Silph Co products, ect), make the pokemon scary, maybe not the cuddly ones but dammit if nidoking would't make you c**p your pants. the people that enjoyed the original series would LOVE an adult adaptation of this. I can not be the only person who wants this.

In the right hands, some adaptations could be fantastic movie and profitable franchises, like He-Man, Thundercats, Silverhwaks, Captain Planet, Bravestar, Dungeons & Dragons and Ducktales. I would like a movie from "Pole Position". Great cartoon!

@MartinMallow I am not too sure about a live action version but a Manga version would be a great movie

@LukeSween The trouble with manga and anime movies is that they are tailored to a very small group of people, not to mention that would just seem like the original pokemon movies.

Thanks for the excellent flashback through my childhood. Some of them would be difficult to make (Ducktales, Animaniacs) as live action film, but others (Thundercats, Silverhawks) should be a given. A few omissions; Star Blazers, Thundar The Barbarian, The Herculoids.

And didn't they already do a Dungeons & Dragons movie with The Wayans Brothers or at least one of them?

The Wachowski brothers for Biker Mice from Mars??? Have you already forgotten how they butchered the beloved Speed Racer just a few years ago? Might want to rethink that one.

DINORIDERS! It was amazing back in the 80's and would definitely work as live action / cgi mix. Ah nostalgia, you can't beat it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpuhLkh358Y Dream cast: Questar (Aaron Eckhart) Mind-Zei (Ian McKellan) Yungstar (Liam Hensworth), Krulos (Andy Serkis) Oh and The Legend of Prince Valiant, what a theme song!

What happened to Thundarr the Barbarian, with Arial and Ookla, awesomeness at its best? The post apocalypse is in vogue now and what better to merge the sword and sorcery epics together.

Archer would be a delight to see on the big screen. The ridiculousness of the situations combined with the spy movie cliche action would play out quite well. The only real problem would be getting Jon Benjamin to look like Sterling Archer, as no one else seems worthy to fit the role of everyone's favorite "best spy in the world." http://www.videodetective.com/tv/archer-clip-5/201825

Got all the Thundercats on DVD and still as much in love them now as i was back then, a live action film of the series would be A...MA...ZINGand it is long over due, just please don't let the t**t Michael Bay anywhere near it hes going to ruin the Teenage Nutant Nunja Turtle as it is, don't let him ruin anymore childhood memories. As for the Visionaries that would be awesome as well, still like with thundercats sit and watch them now, just don't think there would be the appeal for a Visionaries film as there would be for a thundercats film. Great list though....just please find a way to ban Michael Bay from ever seeing this list PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE

Fun list for sure -- Mostly really enjoyed seeing cartoons I never heard of whether it was because they didn't play in the states or I was just too young / not alive yet. Two big omissions in my opinion: Mighty Max -- The cartoon was about a wise-a*s kid who is "The Chosen One" to wear a magic cap that opens portals to places all over The World as he is guided by his wise talking Owl, Virgil, and protected by his tough as nails sword wielding guadian Norman. Trust me, it was much better than it sounds and even had a great one season story arc. The second omission to me is much more glaring....You left out The Tick!
