    Whilst i do love these lists you compile, and im incredibly aware of how much effort goes into them, am i the only one who wants more detail in each part? Even if it was to mean cutting the amount of films down? Or am i just being a prick?

    I hate to have to break it to you but the most amazing thing about the animation in Who Framed Roger Rabbit was that it was all done by hand. Computer techniques didn't get a look in, just a highly talented group of old-school animators who drew in all the shading to make the toons appear to have depth in the 'real world'. Shame on you for giving credit to computers for their purely human skills !

    The original Star Wars trilogy had awe-inspiring and ground-breaking effects which transported the viewer to another galaxy. UNFORTUNATELY Lucas had a brain farrt and said to himself "What could possibly improve actual sets, models and puppets? THATS RIGHT! SHODDY-LOOKING CGI!!" Ultimately it tore the audience out of the film, wondering why the badly animated Jabba looked like something drawn in as an afterthought, encouraged Lucas to make 3 useless prequels and ruin an Indiana Jones movie. Can' t this man retire? PLeeeassse?

    One of my favourite effects shots is in Two Towers when Legolas swings up onto his horse. A bit ridiculous, but it's pretty ballsy. The live actor is full on, centre screen and the audience's focal point, then seamlessly switches to digital double in front of us...all in bright daylight. Always makes me smile. Shame the digital double couldn't give Bloom some acting tips...or just assumed his career from then on, S1mOne style

    I saw the skeleton warriors in Jason and the Argonauts the year it came out, when I was about 12. They scared the c**p out of me.

    In terms of budget FX, nothing beats Braindead (or possibly Bad Taste) As for lasting effect, the fire extinguisher scene in Irreversible still gives me nightmares, even though it was a very simple effect. Mind you, I wouldn't want to show a picture of the aftermath...

    I am SHOCKED that 1978 Superman: The Movie with Christopher Reeve is not on this list! I was literally expecting it at the least in the top 5 of all time. Not only was this the first time ever that the big screen made an audience believe a man can fly, but it was also the first time many special effects were implemented in a film for the first time that many copied after! Just watch the making of the movie on the special collectors edition! I can't even take this list serious without that movie being on the list!

    How could you leave out Cecil B DeMille's Parting of the Red Sea in THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, which he managed to do twice!!??! Once in 1923 and in 1956!!!

    I can't even imagine what we actually would do without any visual effects. Films would be really boring. I saw amazing comparative post on Izifunny you may see and also compare it
