I'm struggling to see how Shrek, Aladdin and Incredibles are better than The Lion King (one of my all time favourite movies) but otherwise a good list Total Film.

Dragon Hunters (Chasseurs de dragons) should really be on this list. It is a fantastic film!

@prime43 agreed. Don't see why Finding Nemo is so high up too? I'd rate that over The Incredibles any day!

How is the Lion King not in the top 10? And five overrated Miyazaki films on the list is too much.

Why the good God is Shrek in this list. Everything else belongs there or thereabout. But Shrek? Seriously? Its common denominator humour. The animation was technically brilliant at the time but completely soulless and lacked any real character.

Good ol list. Kudos to not taking a lazy approach and including The Simpsons movie. I would've included Bender's Big Score but it would more of a personal inclusion.

Good list. Personally I love South Park, Nightmare Before Christmas,Up and WALL:E and would have them in my top 5 with Toy Story.

@Shelbiie Finding Nemo and The Lion King would be my top two. Lion King as 1 and Nemo as 2. Also why so many Anime films? I've been thinking all day and have come to the conclusion that this list is really biased.

Swap #1 & #2 around & we have a perfect list.

Umm.. Quick question. If the Toy Story sequels are arguably better than the first then why aren't they on this list? At least above Heavy Metal. Or is that a better film? I mean this is the supposed greatest animated films of all time isn't it? Well no, it isn't. It's again TF trying to impress by cramming in as many different films as they can. They might as well put a video of themselves on here shouting. "Look at me, look at me, I've seen lots of films I have! Look at them all! I've seen them all!" It's either bragging or they are just plain bad at their job.

The Lion King should be at least top 5, other than that good list!

An absolutely marvelous list! I realize you need to round things out at 50, but if you could add one more, please add "Barefoot Gen" to your list - this is a very important film. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCHbF9lG3lE

South Park? Really? -_-' I was glad that four or five of the Miyazaki films made it in here.

Why are so many people asking why Lion King isn't in the top 10? Look, Lion King is great and all, but really, compared to so many of these movies (particularly the Miyazaki ones) it falls short. Lion King deserves to be on the list (which it is) but certainly not in the top 10. Now, a real question would be how are Whisper of the Heart, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea, Porco Rosso and Kiki's Delivery Service not here? They should have made the list easily. I know people are saying there's already a "bias" for anime here, but did you ever stop to think that maybe, just maybe, these movies are just that dang good? It's not like we're talking Naruto here (good heavens no), Miyazaki is an auteur. And his films are certainly better than South Park.

How was that a rare chance for Mark Hamill (voicing the Joker)? He's been doing the voice for almost twenty years!

Honestly, I was really feeling this list. It had a good mix of worldly animation. However, it's probably just me because everyone else seems to adore the film, but I feel that Toy Story had no business in the Top 25, let alone as Number 1. I think something Miyazaki should have been one, but I guess I'll settle for two. Also, Shrek before Roger Rabbit? What you smokin'?

Man, I persinally think Princess should be number 1, second Spirited Away (like it was on the list) and Lion King AT LEAST on the top five. Wall-e and How to Train Your Dragon should have been higher in my opinion. Pretty good list, but like I said, Princess Mononoke is my favorite animated masterpiece! :)

Great list, LOVE Spirited Away, Totoro etc, but my personal fave is Grave Of The Fireflies, I cried buckets at the end of that film, but it was amazing, I do think Barefoot Gen should be on the list though

For me it's very hard to accept that Grave of the Fireflies is behind Shrek.

Great list. Like most of the movies here. I recommend Spirited Away and Grave of the Fireflies to anyone who likes anime movies. They are both amazing. Also Finding Nemo and Up are two of my favorite movies. Saw both of them at least 20 times
