The Movie: This cult classic sees actor-director Guru Dutt play famous film director Suresh Sinha, telling his story through a series of flashbacks, and charting his struggle to win over his wife’s wealthy family.
Stand-Out Moment: The haunting final scene in which Sinha dies alone in his director’s chair. Not your typically cheery Bollywood ending…

some "interesting" choices here. but still nice to see a hindi movie based feature on TF. how about south indian cinema? although north india has more exposure, the south indian movies are better technically and are more willing to take risks in their storytelling. notable absentees? Guide, Mera Naam Joker, Angoor, Mirch Masala (an many more...)

Nice list. I've seen 21 of them. I now am determined to see all 50. Though I DO think you overlooked some - Taal, Don (the original from '78), Deewaar, Ghajini, Zanjeer, Lajja, and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, for instance.
