Why is Conan The Barbarian so low down in the list? Its more influential than Brave, frekkin' Dragonslayer and WIllow?! (Can you say LOTR ripoff?), Plus I would like to add Bridge of Terabithia, a little seen gem of a movie.

Where is Krull?? Good Script, Fantasy setting. A dubbed Robbie Coltrane and Lysette Anthony. If you stick in derivitive nonsense like Willow, you have to have Krull in there too!!!

Come to think of it, if Willow is in the top 50, then you should also have Hawk The Slayer and The Sword and The Sorcerer for introducing the concept of a triple-bladed weapon.

Clearly I'm one of the few who founds the Lord of the Rings trilogy to be pretty bloody dull and uninspired. Studio Ghibl, on the other hand. They are amazing. Princess Mononoke, for my money, is better than Spirited Away but Howl's Moving Castle should get a mention, too. It's underrated.

I love that there's always some unknowns on these features - Valerie And Her Week Of Wonders is high up on my 'to watch' list now, sounds fascinating.

Where is 'Flight of the Navigator'? 'The Return to Oz' (which still scares the s**te out of me to this day when all those heads wake up)? And the ultimate 80's child fantasy film.... The Goonies. Kudos to The Never Ending Story mind, that was my childhood right there.

Thats a good point actually - what does constitute a Fantasy film? Shouldn't superhero films count as such? (Avengers has Sci-Fi and Magic in it)

I've got to go with binkthemagician; Krull should definitely be in there (He forgot to mention Liam Neeson and Freddy Jones as the best Obi Wan/Gandalf figure ever..... (cos Thufir Hawat doesn't count though that was Freddy Jones too))

Where's The Sword And The Sorcerer???? Miles better than Conan at a fraction of the budget! Seriously, a demon who can tear your heart out at 20 paces, a three bladed sword (that also fires the blades!), the hero DE-crucifying himself, and a baddies head put on a grindstone!!!!!

I honestly don't think super hero films etc should be on a fantasy list..... majority of these are great FANTASY films, a few could be added and a few taken out in my opinion, but thats just my taste. The genre overlaps to si-fi etc but is different..... Google it, super heros sort of fall under si-fi rather than fantasy,

I think this is a brilliant list, you really covered all the bases...Beastmaster, Mary Poppins, etc. But I was disappointed to see Willow so far down the list. It's storytelling and quirky charm far exceed, say, Harry Potter and its CGI and only marginally acceptable acting. Harry had a bigger budget, but Willow blows it away on personality. I was also happy to see Labybrinth and Neverending Story so far up on the list, but I would have put NES in the top ten. I was also slightly surprised to see Legend so far down the list. As weird as he is, Tim Cruise made a dreamy and appropriately other-worldly main character, and its almost impossible to beat Tim Curry as a villain.

I agree with @Andy85, I would have liked to see Flight of the Navigator on here as well and maybe Bridge to Terabithia, but I also agree that Hellboy has no place here. Drivel. No charm. I also love that there are some foreign and unknowns. I've updated my Netflix queue. Thanks for a great list!
