    Bane at #6? I know you guys were paid to write a good review but you can stop with the propaganda now. The Dark Knight Rises just isn't particularly any good.

    17 - Alien - Ash is the name of the Android (played by Ian Holm). The character you're thinking of is Kane.

    I think the opening to Blade is one of the best openings to any film so glad to see that on here. Agree that Cameron Diaz should be a lot higher and Bane a lot lower, but i'd also thought Indy's entrance would have been at least in the top 5. I was actualy discussing this with someone the other day - has the art of introducing a character cinematically diminished over the last few years. It used to be that there was a bit of intrigue, even suspense, and often some clever camera movement when a main character was being , but nowadays its always pretty much just 'boom - here is a character'

    Can't believe that Michael Keaton's Batman is on here, as opposed to Christian Bale's. Okay, too many Nolan's spoil the broth, but come on! It's a much better more impactful and powerful entrance.

    where's jack nicholson's joker? sean connery as bond, james bond? javier bardem in skyfall? Christian Bale's Batman, freddy kruegger in the original Nightmare on elm street, vito corleone? and seriously the human spider scene of spider-man 1? really?

    This list seems to be more concerned with memorable characters than their actual entrances. You've got the first two Terminators but none of the other Indiana Jones entrances. Temple of Doom was great and the Phoenix/Ford entrance in Crusade was even better. Now it's unpopular to give Crystal Skull any merits but before we knew how disappointed we were going to be about the plot, we get to see one of the best Indy entrances ever. For the first time again in decades we see our beloved hero displayed as a silluetted Indy while putting on his iconic hat while we hear a subtle hint of the iconic "Raiders March" melody by John Williams. It's tasteful and respectful to the character in everyway. The movie goes bonkers after Gwyneth Paltro starts talking and we see the skull for the first time, but I enjoyed that brief moment letting us all know that Ford still has a nack for the theatrics.

    Mr. Blonde from Reservoir Dogs. Their bank robbery has just gone so wrong and there he is spanking clean drinking a soda, that's the essence of cool. Plus I love Bane but 6th, no way.

    What about Driver from Drive? or Marsellus Wallace in Pulp Fiction - a huge monologue in which we never see who's talking. or Rorschach in Watchmen? or Lisbeth Salander? or John Doe in Seven - DETECTIIIIIIVE!! or Bullet-Tooth Tony in s****h?

    The Balrog? The deepest growl, the goblins scarper and an orange glow cast over the pillars of Moria that grows as it approaches. "A Balrog. A demon of the ancient world. This foe is beyond any of you. Run!" Says the fella with the beard, resulting in the gang pegging it. And after all the build up, it leaps up from a wall of fire. Awesome - Best build up to an entrance.

    No Sean Connery as Bond, James Bond from Dr. No? No Borg Queen from Star Trek First Contact appearing as a head and shoulders lowering into a Borg body? Indy's intro into Crystal Skull was better than some entries on this list too. Marty McFly's intro in Back to the Future was great too. Brosnan's Bond also got some great intros in Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies too.

    Sean Connery as Bond in Dr No? Possibly one of the most quoted lines. Even Austin Powers entrance in International Man of Mystery was better than Bane's introduction. I think Captain Jack should have been a bit higher as well
