So, the greatest event of the last six months was a trailer getting released for a film due out in the next six months? Don't talk utter twaddle.

Absolutely agree with piffle. Also, stating that there is no dialogue in the Les Mis trailer? There is no dialogue in the musical - it's all sung!!

Sorry but this is lame. Most of your lists are interesting but this is just garbage. Surely someone there could come up with something better than this?

Only just clicked on to this, and even thought The Woman In Black did extremely well, I thought the story choice was poor. They should have kept to the original ending (or something more similar) than the pants idea that replaced it. I was rather disappointed.

Piffle & Kimsala are right. I was as excited by TDKR trailer as anybody; but how is it the biggest thing to happen? A trailer? The Avengers makes $1.4b, and still counting, wows the critics and (obviously) audiences, and it gets beaten by a trailer? *sigh*

Fair enough list i think - lots of decent 'events' on there. I'm not usually one to rubbish these types of articles, HOWEVER. There is no way - no way i say, that we're letting you have your own I-Pad app lauch as one of the biggest movie events of the year. I demand you replace it with something else....or give me an IPad so i can experience it too.

I am sure Chloe Moretz will have no trouble being the third best Carrie (far behind Sissy Spacek and Angela Bettis). But of course all the Moretz kool-aide drinkers will blather on and on about how awesome she is...they are "going off book"....YAY!

'Greatest' and 'events'? What it boils down to is mostly news about films that have yet to be released or are in pre /post -production. Thats called - drum roll- film news not events. Sorry.

The greatest movie event this year and maybe history is about a minute long and contains The Avengers in a scene i waited virtually all my life for…Pure superhero smackdown…When Iron man swoops in lands does the "marvel alliance" thing cap america then flies up and you know the rest!! More to the point what IF Dark Knight aint that great or spiderman turns out to be the s**t ? this list will look like whomever thought of it…out of ideas and all over the place…give the summer at least to finish ffs

I'm sick of this TDKR lovefest now. Lets just set one thing straight, BB was a good film that re-iginited a franchise long thought dead. TDK was a very good film largely due to Heath Ledger. The film made a billion dollars due to word of mouth of his performance and largely due to his subsequent death. I have seen every trailer and tv spot of TDKR that has come out and not one element of it has really warranted the level of hype total film is giving the film. Total Film is trying to pound us senseless with talk of how amazing this film looks and in all reality it looks very average. That said and after hyping it up forever, I'm sure TF will insist on giving the film a 4-5 star review regardless of whether the film is good or not.

Can't wait for There Goes The Neighbourhood. Ben Stiller (never been funny), Jonah Hill (just shouts in every film), Vince Vaughn (not even a comedy actor) and Richard Ayode (just plays Moss in everything he is in).

after the disappointing performances of front-running contenders, like Battleship, MIB 3 and Dark Shadows, i'm gettin' the feeling that Marvel's The Avengers will be the one movie that just DOMINATES this year's summer's box office, if not the whole year... even The Hobbit ain't lookin' like such a sure thing anymore.
