I'm really not sure if Raiders of the Lost Ark counts as an origin stroy. Ok its the the first time we meet Indy but Temple is set before Raiders and we see Indy as a child in Grail, of course this is if you forget the Young Adventures which give the most detailed orgin story I have ever seen.

Im sure most of these are just stand alone films that unfortuantely spawned weaker sequels.

fatevilpigeon - Your right, surely the opening sequence of the last crusade is the origns story?

All over the place this feature. The Blade pic is from Blade 2, the Alien pic from Alien 3. Did someone on their work experience create this one?

Surely The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly is the origin story of the Dollars trilogy?

I think the person who came up with this list is getting confused with what an origin story is. An origin story explains how the main character came to be which some of these films are e.g. Batman Begins, The Phantom Menace Etc. The others are just the first in the franchise.

At least get the titles right. "Rambo" was the fourth movie in the series. The first movie is called "First Blood".

I agree with liamscott: a first movie is not the same as an origin story. A real origin story comes after we've allready come to now a character and then explains how that character came to be. In that respect, Hannibal's origin story is Hannibal Rising, not Red Dragon. And you could even argue that the origin of the Terminator was briefly shown in Salvation.

For movie buffs, you didn't remember that it's 9 realms and not 9 worlds that Thor and his fellow hero types protect? Glad that Bruce got top billing though :)

I thought an origin story was more about revealing the beginnings of already established characters and how they came to be the character we know and love? Most of these are just first chapters in a series. Also, editors and fact checkers. Do you have them?

Actually, Arethosemyfeet you are completely wrong about the pics of blade and alien, they both are from their first movies, how about you check your own facts first, before making judgments about others.

srstephen234, the pictures were changed after id made the comment. the original pictures that were put into the feature were ripley with a bloodshot eye (as in alien 3) and blade with a red lining to his jacket (as in blade2).
