So, one of the best movie posters of 2011 is Red Sonja - which isn't a real movie and has got 2009 written on it in big letters.
Good list otherwise. The Dragon Tattoo poster is ace.
Stoked to get two posters in the list for Hobo and Innkeepers, please feel free to check out my other film poster designs for upcoming films at the dude designs blog... thedudedesigns.blogspot.com
is this a list for poster design or just your favourite films?!?!
the design for Drive is not the UK film poster, you can't see his outfit. If you're going to talk about poster design, take some time and really consider the design aspect. The Iron F***ing Lady at number 8?!?!
Bridesmaid is not sticking two fingers at romcom - it was manipulative, falsely lulling people into thinking it was a romcom, when in fact the film was a lot better than that. The poster wanted to catch a larger demographic therefore designed it as a romcom - you missed the point entirely!!
i'm shocked at the omission of Weekend / The Artist / The skin i live in / Black Swan / Tinker Tailor.....
I place this list at number 1 in the worst end of the year's list!! I'm shocked you haven't included We Need to Talk About Kevin as the best film poster ever designed... NOT!
OMG despite a handful of good ones, this has to be the worst list of posters. Red Sonja isn't even a film. And come on, Friends With Benefits? Crazy Stupid Love? The Beaver? Bad Teacher!?!? What's so fresh about those? They're hand-me-downs from the US designs, and just where are all the quad posters? Hello quads are UK specific. A sloppily put together list, poorly researched.
And what of Miss Bala, Weekend, Troll Hunter, Holy Rollers, Kaboom, Rubber, Pina 3-D, Amer, Brighton Rock, and how about that OTHER Iron Lady poster with the london skyline, there's tons of really creative posters and ideas that have been left off here, including lots from British designers.
Pathetic.
amazin' posters! loving it! Never heard of Weekend before the person above mentioned it. Just googled da poster. BEAUTIFUL! love it.
I well like the Dragon Tattoo one as well, and Ides Of March (Gosling's well fit).
Looking forward to next yr's list xx
I'm sorry, Final Destination 5's poster has 'been banned from ever being used to advertise the film again after complaints about its content'?! Have these people never seen some of the Saw posters that came out with the movies? I recall hooks in lips, bloody fingers, heads in sharp contraptions!
On another note, I loved the Scream4 poster! It was simple yet effective! And I am in agreement with @deedeedragons! It was better than a lot of horrors that came out that year and it was still better than the 3rd one! Although I am quite biased as Scream is my favourite horror franchise!

Couldn't resist another jab at Scream 4 could you TF? It was better than 90% of the other horror movies we got this year. Let it be.
