Universal postpone production in wake of Paul Walker's tragic death
The Fan Theory: Sean Connery’s character is actually James Bond (more on him later). Caught spying in America, he has spent the rest of his life banged up in various prisons…Why It’s Mind-Blowing: As FBI Director Womack later professes, “This man does not exist not in the United States or Great Britain.” That’s because James Bond isn’t a a person… it’s a code name!

All but about half a dozen of those were phenomenally dumb and utterly pointless, I'm not one for moaning about the features, but that was a sweetcorn studded turd.

reseroiur dogs and pulp fiction happen on the same day is ridiculous.. the wolf/ mr white.. appear in both films but in one wearing a tuxedo at roughly 8.30 am at a house.. where as mr white is having breakfast with the rest of the dogs in a diner before the pull of their heist.. the times dont match up for jools and vincent to be able get away with driving around with a blood soaked car because all the cops are busy when the only way this would be plausible is for the dogs heist to be after what happened in pulp fiction.. and i suppose mr orange has an identical twin the rob dinners too and mr browns real name is jimmy?? too far fetched

Maybe a few too many “he was dead all along/it all takes place in her mind/its a psychotic delusion and didn't really happen at all” school of thought. Or maybe writers are really bloody lazy and grew up watching too much Dallas. Is it a fan theory or just a fact that in Total Recall (the good one) Arnie was lobotomized at Rekall at the beginning and everything else was just the delusion he had just asked Rekall to implant. We are told the plot and shown images of what is to come on screens above his head. Which is really cool and now I am giving an "it was all in his head " theory, sorry.

I like that idea about Loki's plan all along for The Avengers. In my opinion Loki was the best thing in The Avengers and Thor

@jefcas Mr white and the wolf aren't the same guy. They're played by the same character, yes, but that doesn't mean they're the same guy.

I bought into the multiple Bonds theory, until Skyfall gave us a return to his home where Kincaid confirmed it, unless the Bonds just happened to all be orphans from parents who died while mountain climbing. Unless there was an original James Bond (Connery's, perhaps?) with the dead parents, and all the others are continuing on the identity of that original Bond. But then how did Kincaid know Craig was Bond? Unless he's going a bit dotty and thought him to be JB, but then why didn't he notice how James' age didn't match up? Aargh, more questions come out of this theory.
You missed Memento; Leonard, perhaps, doesn't have a memory issue at all and just needs a reason to live. So fakes it. Still, you could do this about any film, really. Zero Dark Thirty's is about Jessica Chastain's rampant narcissism. My theory, anyway. I mean she is clear in love with herself.

I like the theory that says all of Dyson's research in T2 was backed up on external servers and continued by less gifted people who took longer to crack the coding required within the chip. This explains why Judgement Day was delayed, but inevitable and still lead to T3. However it doesn't explain why Skynet didn't start wrapping laser cannons in flesh and sening them back with their cyborgs. Or why the other two sequels were a bit poo.

I'm sure in the Reservoir Dogs script book they have a scene where Blonde, Pink and White are discussing possible ways of getting Orange seen to without arousing suspicion, and they discuss a friend of theirs who girlfriend is a nurse who goes by the name of Bonnie, maybe she can help what with being a nurse and the like, and on top of the link between Blonde and Vincent Vega link, added to the whole alternate WWII world situation doesn't make the whole happened on the same day nonsense seem that daft. BTW didn't Cracked also suggest the whole alternate WWII world situation going so far as to say, I think, that one of the inglorious types is related to the character played by the Chris Penn in (the tony scott directed, QT scripted) True Romance, could be wrong about that, but I swear I read a tenuous link between IB and TR.

The "James Bond is a codename" theory is great and makes sense, but not for the Daniel Craig films. In Skyfall we find out his family name actually is Bond, remember? So labelling it for "Skyfall" is wrong. I like it when it's applied to the other films, though. As for Judi Dench appearing with two different Bonds... well, let's just take it that she played the same character in two different continuities.
I prefer to think of everything pre-Casino Royale as set in the same universe, where James Bond is a codename, and Casino Royale onward are all set in their own continuity where Daniel Craig is the only real James Bond (and where James Bond is his actual name).
A bit of a weakness with #1 with James Bond being a code rather than an actual person......Roger Moore visits the grave of George Lazenby's dead wife (from OHMSS). Also "The World is Not Enough" is revealed by Brosnan as a family motto, which is also enscribed onto the gravestone of an earlier Bond (think it might have been Moore again in the same graveyard scene).

also is taxi driver a happy ending? A man obviously with a few mental issues, Vietnam vet (probably) on the peripheral of society who is conceded by this society as a outcast who they wish to ignore, regardless of his tour of duty, embraces him when he kills a pimp. He is still the same man, just killed someone society deems to be worse then himself. Infact he was only a few seconds away from being viewed worse then a pimp, what with the whole shooting that politician thing he never carries out. Hardly an upbeat ending...and its very likely that he will take his next date to a porno cinema

What people have seemed to overlook with regards to Inception, is that it could quite possibly be true. After all, the spinning top isn't his totem, it's Mol's. We never find out what his totem is. I mean the whole point is that no one else can touch yours, and I know she's dead, but why would he have hers? Plus after he tests out the new compound from Yusuf, he never spins the top. He tries to in the bathroom but drops it and is interrupted by Saito. He never again tries to spin it after that.

Firstly, i don't get why people go on about the ending of signs and the water. There's plenty of stuff that would drop a human dead but hasn't stopped us visiting every corner of the planet. Just because molten lava would melt a person in less time than it would explain to why the Happening was sh*t hasn't stopped people traveliing up volcanos. Secondly, Inception; There is a point in the film where Cobb drops the spinning top before its had time to test it fully - think its when they're in India (at least i think its India) and they go to that underground place where loads of men are in deep sleep - "Do they come here to dream? - No, they come here to wake up" - Cobb tests the new compound and goes into the dream world. How do we know he ever woke up?
Jan 31st 2013, 14:15
I also have a question about the whole 'totem' thing in Inception. The film states that it is a tool that a dreamer can use in the real world to confirm that they aren't still dreaming. It states that they should be the only ones who know the weight, etc, of the totem and so if it felt wrong they would know that they were still in the psyche of the dreamer.....but what if they were in their own dream? It shows Cobb on several occassions going into the dream world on his own, therefore, isn't he in his own psyche and so his dream-self would know about the totem? How could he trust himself to confirm he is out of the Dream world?

Erm..In Skyfall you can see the graves of his parents Mr and Mrs Bond. Debunked!
Jan 31st 2013, 14:38
This list should be redone without any "it was a dream" entry
Jan 31st 2013, 15:10
Pulp Fiction and Reservoir dogs as much as I liked that to be true it makes no sense, unless Tim Roth has a twin that was robbing a diner at the same time.
Jan 31st 2013, 15:47
As i understand it, the 'Lobotomized' total recall theory is true. the giveaway is the picture of rachel ricotin, everything else could be explained.
Jan 31st 2013, 16:31
Why not combine films in theories? There's no limit to it. James Bond could be the implants people live in Totall Recall for example, explaining why they look different. Its not RIGHT but it makes sense. Personally as far as Bond goes I enjoy the lack of explanation.

How on earth do people get paid for this.
Jan 31st 2013, 20:17
Nice idea McSerious! How about Tideland is what happens to The Dude, ten years after The Big Lebowski? Or Harry Potter causes the Jet engine to fall on top of Donnie Darkos house?

Tim Roth & Harvey Kietel are ACTORS, playing different CHARACTERS the Dogs/Fiction thing is plausible, Jules Winfield & Nick Fury aren't the same person either, sorry to break it to you

Okay so after reading this I think I'm going to go curl up into a ball in the corner of my room and cry myself to sleep.
Feb 1st 2013, 0:40
With the James Bond as a codename, it does make sense, because the Craig Bond is in a different universe than the other Bonds. Therefore why Bond comes back to his home and Kincaid recognizes him as Bond. In this universe, with this theory, Craig stands as the first Bond, all the others after him, the torch and name will be passed.
Feb 1st 2013, 20:48
Number 10 is wrong, in Signs there are reports on the radio or TV that water is the key to stopping the aliens, it's not just the water at a minister's house that's killinig them. People should actually watch the movies before they come up with these theories.
Feb 1st 2013, 21:31
Don't we see MacReady drinking from the bottle before Childs shows up?
Feb 2nd 2013, 0:47
My theory about It's a Wonderful life is thus
God is a sadist.
Basically in the universe of the film, God & heaven & all that jazz is shown to exist. All these disasters that have been befalling George Bailey over the years were God's work & he only stops him killing himself so he can toy with him more.

surprised Berberian Sound Studio, Kill List or Sound Of My Voice aren't on here, for they definitely need to be worked out.
also, what if the powers in Chronicle were made up by Andrew?
or, in Moon (SPOILERS) if Sam isn't cloned, just schizophrenic?
Feb 3rd 2013, 10:24
Loving the Inception theory!!!
Feb 3rd 2013, 15:42
upstreamtuna...sorry but your theory doesn't track. At the end of Skyfall, Dench's M is replaced with another M, therefore if Craig's Bond was the first , the Bronson Bond would never have met her and Goldeneye was Dench's M first meeting with Bond, Phew! Plus in Skyfall Q says " What did you expect? Exploding Pens? We don't do that anymore," Referencing Goldeneye.

The Ghostbusters one is interesting that they died in the 1st and are in purgatory in the 2nd, say that because what was the name of the proposed 3rd movie that Dan Aykroyd wrote shortly after GB2? Ghostbusters Go To Hell
Feb 4th 2013, 15:35
The Bond theory still flies. Miss Moneypenny, 'nuff Said.
Feb 4th 2013, 20:43
This is the worst fan theory page I have read. Most of them don't even explain properly how any of this is plausible.
Total Film. I am ashamed. :(
Feb 5th 2013, 10:14
"Cobb’s totem isn’t actually his spinning top"
How can that be a fan theory...?? Cobb tells Ariadne that the spinning top was Mal's totem... not his.
Feb 26th 2013, 9:10
For 43 you write that he couldn't know what clothes are like in the third century because he was in the lamp. Then you say he could know what celebrities were like while in the lamp for ten thousand years.
Apr 22nd 2013, 12:15
I like the theory that Batman/Bruce Wayne sees the present villain killing his parent's in the Tim Burton films. It really shows how that major incident in his life has affected him and how it fuels him into defeating his enemies.

some of these are good
but some just aren't possible
and some can be true but if are true can be a real bummer
