    The tom cruise one reminds me of the rich hall skit "Tom cruise is a (insert profession), a pretty good one but not the best. Then he has a crisis of conscience and cant do it anymore. However, with the help of a good woman he's able to get back in the saddle and become the best (insert profession) ever!". Tom hanks slightly repressed nice man should be in there somewhere, but good list!

    If there are only two examples, they shouldn't be there: that's merely coincidence. Also, with James Marsden's one, I don't know why "Straw Dogs" is there, seeing as how his character's wife didn't cheat on him; she was RAPED. Rape is not the same as a consensual affair.

    @AVolition, literally just read Ben Stiller's and was about to write the same thing. I don't know who would ever typecast Stiller as 'The arrogant fitness freak who used to be fat and won't let anyone forget about his new physical prowess'?

    Makes you appreciate even more someone like Gary Oldman. Completely different in nearly every role he plays. The man is a chameleon. And it was mentioned above about Staham and Seagal and i guess this covers a lot of action stars, but when you loko back at Arnie's career, he did vary it a little (if only slightly each time); Unstoppable killing machine who's bad, unstoppable killing machine who's good, Beefed-up army commando who's out of his depth and barely survives against a predator, Beefed-up army commando who has no trouble taking on an island full of bad guys, government agent who erases the identities of witnesses and their families, government agent who has to protect his own family......and Mr Freeeze. He's no Brando, but cudos for mixing it up a little from the usual action mold (government agent/hitman/hired mercenary gets betrayed and left for dead and seeks revenge for themselves/brother/second cousin).......................would like to see bruce Willis on this list although he has 2 types; everyday joe who's awesome with a gun and government/police type who's awesome with a gun.

    On Jeff Goldblum's page they forgot to include The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou where he plays the wife-stealing-part-gay marine biologist Alistair Hennessey.     Really a reach with Lea Thompson. Red Dawn, Somekind of Wonderful, Casual Sex. Two roles that don't really have anything to do with each other does not qualify as type casting.

    How about Joe Pesci??? Every character he plays is the "annoying Italian guy who's mouth always gets him in trouble." Raging Bull, Easy Money, Good Fellas, Casino, My Cousin Vinnie, etc. Way more so than Lea Thompson.

    For Alan Dale, you forgot King George/DA Albert Spencer on "Once Upon A Time". He gets ESPECIALLY worse in the episode "Child of the Moon". And Michelle Rodriguez needs to start diversifying her career. Maybe "Turbo" is a good start, as it's lampooning her role in "The Fast and the Furious". And I could tell Jimmy Marsden was in for a terrible career when I saw him on "Boogie's Diner". Seriously, I refuse to call him anything but Jimmy as I can't take him as a serious actor. But I still think they should've given someone else the part of Cyclops. However, it makes me feel a little better seeing a lot of my favorite actresses in there. I have had a lot of people telling me I would not get out of the 'quirky' girl, but with Zooey and Drew mentioned, I'd say I'm in good company. Besides, I'm going to do what's right for myself. ;)
