This is getting a bit silly.

How so? Have you seen the state of the country at the moment? Flash floods across most of the nation, why can't we have a feature that ties in with current events?

@System, using that logic, IF a wo/man is found guilty of raping/torturing children in the news, it would be perfectly acceptable to have a top 50 peadophile moments?

Interesting list...very glad to see "Shawshank" at the top! Two I missed..."Cable Guy" (underrated movie!), where Carrey is rejected by Broderick and sent back into the rainy night. And then of course the end of "Lethal Weapon", when Joshua (Busey) and Riggs are fighting in the rain.

@Heisenberg, no because that is just ludicrous. I wouldn't expect Totalfilm to stoop to anything like that. Greatest Football moments in film for example to tie into the Euros that was done recently, can you see were I am going with this? What else do you expect them to do when it's a slow news day? Post practically nothing on the site?

Great list, very interesting to read. I always prefer a Top 50 list because it offers diversity and a range of what appears on the list. Truly amazing how they can find and gather up so many specific movie moments so quickly.

Okay, i agree the top fifty lists give us something to read/enjoy/moan about/offer opinions on during our lunch breaks, but 50 every single day is becoming a bit grating now. Couldn't we have some other type of feature maybe once a week. I do like reading the 'Look back on' articles that are occasionally on here, where a classic movie gets a little retrospective feature. Can we have more of those please.

Oh, and with regards to this list, Shawshank is a worthy winner, undoubtedly, but i do like the Road to Perdition one too. One of the most beautifully orchestrated sequences of recent(ish) movies

This list is incomplete due to the lack of The Crow.

@SystemLogic- OH! I see. I'm an American, so the weather patterns of the United Kingdom don't really make it to me. That said, I STILL think this is a silly list, especially since they've made it a Top 50.

No mention of Godzilla '98? Sure, the movie sucked, but most of that movie is raining.

I hate to be "that guy" (actually I love it), but it wasn't raining at the end of Lethal Weapon. The water's coming from where a fire hydrant was knocked over. Still an awesome scene though. Honourary mention.

@StevePotter My apologies, the problem with the internet being you have no clue where the person you are conversing with is located. I see you're point, but even the silliest of features brightens my day at work up a bit. I appriciate any chance to slack off from doing work and read about films.

I would have put Blade Runner above Spider Man but good top five (and a surprisingly good list considering the slightly silly title!)

"V for Vendetta" should be on the list.
