I maybe wrong, and I may prove myself to be quite sad, however I am pretty sure that an Auror is not a shapeshifter, but is a basically a wizard that hunts for dark wizards.

An Auror is not a shapeshifter, that's either called a metamorphmagus (like Tonks who can change her appearance at will) or an animagus (like Sirius who can shapeshift into a dog). An auror is a dark wizard catcher.

I appreciate I'm in the minority and would never dis the fact that people love these films but I have to say... I just don't get it. I've seen all of them apart from the last two and they were all... soul less. I get that it was an amazing and important achievement to get all of the films complete and it's been great for the british film studios and for our talent but i genuinely don't understand the praise these movies get. But then what do i know? I have Weekend at Bernies on DVD. Sorry, you can all have a go at me now

"Harry Potter" was also important to a whole generation of children (now young adults) like myself in the early '00s - not just the films, the books too. As in, it was woven into the fabric of their lives to the point where it would be extremely difficult to unpick. It's left behind a great legacy, and what other modern-day book-to-film franchise could you say that for?

An excellent point MikeyRix I totally get that as well. And you're right, I can't think of another set of films that has had the same effect. I guess I've missed out on that being in my 30's and having no kids around in the family.

I second everyone else an animagus is someone that elects to turn into an animal. mad eye moody*, an auror, is a wizard who hunts dark wizards, better luck next time.

Some details not entirely truthful (Since when were aurors shapeshifters?) and a few crucial elements that made the franchise the phenomenon that it is missed, but a beautiful article nonetheless.

Harry Potter, both in book form and on film, is the most derivative load of cack it has ever been my misfortune to encounter. Just because it's massively popular doesn't mean it's any good and as such not only do I not miss it, I am actually glad that it will be forgotten about when the next facile big thing comes along. It makes even Twilight seem like Kafka. I am not trolling either. I genuinely feel this way. Sorry in advance if anyone is offended.

or 50 reasons to be glad that Potter is gone... until JK Rowling needs more money and makes a needless sequel. Quite frankly the biggest pile of tosh ever! Harry vs Voldermort was nothing more than a really c**p fireworks display. Also, I'm pretty sure that the James Bond series has also done what Harry Potter has done cast wise, Very rarely did the main cast (Bond, Q, M, Moneypenny) change, so pretty sure you are talking a bit of rubbish there. But I can see why the likes of Total Film will miss Potter, because it was mainly British and no matter how c**p British films are you seem to get a kick out of them. To end. Good riddance Potter (until they are all released in 3D, which will no doubt happen)!

I think the shapeshifter comment about Moody was because when we first meet Moody it is actually Barty Crouch Jr. using Polyjuice Potion. Just a thought.

I have to say i'm with @ChrisW on this. I am now 28 so maybe i have the same problem as him, but i just never got "it" with them. I've seen all of the movies bar the DH part 2(thanks to younger cousins, nieces n nephews lol), and while they are mostly watchable enjoyable movies, i just didn't get that 'hysteria' that surrounds them.

@Mings and@JDogg1982. First of all, I'd like to point out- why are you even reading this if you hate Harry Potter so much??? So you can hate on people that Harry Potter has actually meant something to? Oh, real mature of you. To me, and to so many others, Harry Potter is more than just a franchise. The series has taught me so much. You have to look past the story, and to the important lessons it teaches us. That friendship is more important than cleverness, that love conquers all. To do anything for the ones we love. I am the person I am today because of Harry Potter, and I couldn't be prouder. I tell myself not to be bothered by your immature comments, but what really got to me was @JDogg1982 mentioning how J.K Rowling just wants money. That is disrespectful to an amazing author, who has gone through so much hardship in her life and deserves every penny she earns. And you say all British films are c**p? You obviously aren't worldly at all- to dismiss something just because of the country it's from? That's verging on racism. And what do you mean, the cast of the James Bond films never changes? How many James Bonds have there been? 8? But that's not necessarily a bad thing, and I am most definitely not going to start hating on something you love. I will never stoop to your low level. Regards, Ginger

First of all, if you needed a book to tell you that friendship is more important than cleverness (although its possible to balace the two) and that love conquers all, then you really are in trouble. JK Rowling is a good writer, but the testament of great writer is one that can write novels outside their comfort zone, (remember Ian Fleming wrote Chitty Chitty Bang Bang). Rowling has yet to prove she can write outside the 'Potter-verse' (when shes not ripping off Diane Wynn-Jones...ooops!). One more thing...In Deathly Hallows part 2, was the fat white friend of Malfoys, replaced by a slim black kid just so the producers could kill him off?

What would I miss? I miss all these mentioned stuff, plus 1000+ more... I grew up with Harry Potter.. I've been with him for more than 10 years.. So it was like someone died when I read the last book.. and then the same feeling after I watched the last movie.. I still can't get over the fact that Harry Potter is over..I'll be in Post-Potter depression for the rest of my life... And my childhood officially ended this summer. Harry Potter taught me a lot, showed me the meaning of a true friendship, the meaning of love, showed me that good can prevail if we never give up.. The franchise might be over, but the magic will live on .. It lives in my heart and the heart of every Potterhead out there.. I'll ALWAYS remember Harry Potter.. Potterheads know why.. :-)

I forgot.. You can't. :-) Next time when you debate about how much you hate some book, use arguments and facts ;)
