How could you have forgotten Maria, and (especially) her robot double in Metropolis (1927), without whom probably none of the sexy Sci-Fi ladies on your list could have existed? Hottest Detail: she looks like an Art Deco beauty and her dancing drives men wild with desire...

There's like 5 men on this list... how disappointing!
Mar 13th 2013, 13:45
What's a tempter? And if Princess Leia's got one, where can I get one?
Mar 13th 2013, 13:52
Oh and Mal (Nathan Fillion) should be number one without a shadow of a doubt.

Please, please, please tell my that this #1 really just means its the first slide and not the #1 sexiest sci-fi character ever. Because on what planet is Jane Fonda sexier than Monica Bellucci, Angelina Jolie, Scarlett Johansson, Famke Jansen, Jennifer Connolly, Zoe Saldana, or a retarded monkey with a yeast infection? A planet of all gay men maybe?

Can never understand why people think Ripley is sexy.
Mar 13th 2013, 19:45
There is only 1 Uhura (Nichelle Nichols) and 1 Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner)
Mar 13th 2013, 22:35
Not one... but 2 characters from "Oblivion" -- a movie that's just now coming out. I now see who paid for this list to be made.

Thanks again for leaving out other black actors, Halle Berry in Cloud Atlas or the X-Mens films. Oh and Snake Plisken hottest detail according to my girlfriend must be the snake tattoo that runs down to his pants, which gives the reason why they call him Snake.

I was clicking through the list and then... Whoa!! a dude... WTF is a dude doing on the list of "sexiest" Sci-Fi characters?
Mar 14th 2013, 13:31
That picture you have of Mal from Serenity looks like he's morphing into the Terminator - his eyes are all messed up...
Mar 16th 2013, 19:22
I don't know why but I find Ripley extremely sexy.
Mar 17th 2013, 14:52
You are missing River Tam (Summer Glau) from Serenity.

Why yes, Rayza, women do not exist solely for your pleasure and convenience (contrary to what many of you seem to think) but are genuine, complex human beings with emotions just like you and most of them find men sexy/handsome or passable and would like to be serviced by the entertainment sites they come to as well.
As for the person who made the list. Wow, I'm impressed. I thought there'd be 1 or 2 men (if any), tops. You gave us 8 out of 50. Props for throwing us some crumbs and remembering we are not solely sex objects and come here to be entertained too. But 8/50? Laughable still. You could easily have gone for Hugh Jackman (The Prestige), Christian Bale (Equilibrium, Nolan's Batman trilogy or The Prestige), Leonardo DiCaprio (Inception), Sam Rockwell (Moon), Jude Law (Gattaca, Repo Men, AI), Colin Farrel (Total Recall 2012 remake, The Minority Report), Clive Owen (Children of Men), Liam Hemsworth (Gale in The Hunger Games), Matt Damon (The Adjustment Bureau), Jake Gyllenhaal (Source Code, ) and maybe Daniel Craig (The Invasion). Protip: including Tom Cruise and justifying it with "He's sexy, ladies! He's Tom Cruise!" is kind of weird since most women are put off by him and his creepy ways, but okay.

This list should have been called 'Sexiest FEMALE Characters in Sci-Fi'. When the writer of the article was going to be so prejudiced against male characters, and especially female/ gay male viewership, why pretend the article encompasses the gamut of sci-fi films? I agree with Nissa. Women have just as much claim on viewing attractive men as men do on women. Granted, there are more 'sexy' female characters, but at least make an effort in your list. You mention Scarlet Johansson in The Island, but not Ewan McGregor? Harrison Ford in Blade Runner? No mention of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars (he's shirtless a few times)? Gigolo Jane from AI? Seriously? When Gigolo Joe (Jude Law) has such a large role? Way to show your biases, Josh Winning.

Oh, you left off Nyah (Patricia Laffan) from "Devil Girl from Mars"! How could you? She could knock any 10 people off this list with just one contemptuous lift of an eyebrow.
