    Frank Cotton deserved worse than he got. The guy killed his brother, had an affair with said brother's wife the week before their wedding and then tried to get it on with his niece. Not only that, but he still hadn't learnt his lesson by the time the second film came around he was still trying to hump his niece! Personally I'd put Pinhead in Frank's place. That guy has suffered more than any other horror character, just by the sheer number of s**t sequels alone.

    Some Dishonourable mentions...: Franklyn (Original TCM): the only on-screen chainsaw death. AND HE'S IN A WHEELCHAIR!!! Sarah from Inside : All she wanted was a quiet Christmas Eve before giving birth.... Oops...... Milos from A Serbian Film......: Way too much here to go into, surely.....? ;-)

    Just two minor corrections....Laurie Strode faced her brother 4 times, not three...the 4th being the opening sequence of the movie that came after H20, Halloween Ressurrection. Also, Ellen Ripley faced the Xenomorphs more times than the article indicated, as she also did a 4th entry in that franchise.

    OK, not to nitpick, but as a huge F13th fan I have to call you to task here. First, your assessment of Friday the Final Chapter was OK, but....for starters, a. the pic is of ROB, Sandra's (of Fth2) brother who goes hunting for Jason. You may want to research that a little before you post. Just sayin'.

    Anna from Martyrs should be on here. She went to help Lucy who ended up being correct; and ends up going through the most horrible abuse ever. Puts any of Hostel's victims amount of suffering to shame. The boy Mike from Phantasm. Emma from My Little Eye Damien from the Omen... in the sequel he yells and freaks out when realizing who and what he is. He never asked to be born and the anti-christ. Lost all his family due to this... Jim Halsey from the Hitcher.

    Fun list, but not sure a lot of the characters deserve to be on it. As they say, Karma is a b1tch, and a lot of these characters get what they deserved. That can be said for 99% of the victims in Saw. Most of them had some skeletons in their closet that lead to their demise. And Marion Crane; she stole $40K and left town. Don't steal the money, she doesn't have to leave, never meets Norman. And Seth Brundle? His desire for wealth, power, and recognition (what most science geeks crave) was led to his own demise. If he never steps into the teleporter, al his problems are non-existant. Mark from Friday 2 should be higher. The dude was in a wheel chair, and never harmed anyone. The same for Dr. Copper. He just wanted to help people.

    how can anna from martyrs not be on this list, that poor girl went through some of the most horrific stuff i've seen in a film, and just because she cared enough to try & help her friend........ also david mills in seven was unlucky to have john doe have envy over what he had

    @FBYBrown It's a trap that eventually does for him, but he does try to kill himself a couple of time prior to that. I always took him to be fairly relieved when those ice-blocks come swinging down!
